I mean you go from badass translucent alien baby to like. The average red dragon lmao. Sure it's fight is unique but come on they could've made it's design way cooler. I understand the premise is that Xeno is just a larval form and needed time to grow a hard skin but like.. I still think they could've done SOMETHING other than give us the most basic fantasy dragon design
YEAH I WAS VERY SAD WHEN I SAW SAFI… like I love my basic dragon dudes but alien babies ROCK and I fell in love with xeno’s entire design. I remember farming AT xeno through the like a moth the flame quest over and over cuz I wanted the armor (just cuz it was so pretty) and I fell in love with the fight and the design through it
the concept for xeno -> safi is awesome but I feel like it could've been executed a bit better imo... still a cool guy but I will forever adore xeno far more than safi. Maybe I just need to fight it more to learn to love it idk

I know the almost constellations on its wings are kind of a pointer that it's supposed to be Xeno but nothing else about it's design really points in that direction? Because it is just. Red dragon. Like, basically the one on the Welsh flag

LITERALLY!!! there were so many different ways you could have taken xeno to make it into safi but they didn't and just went 'yeah, red dragon sounds good lets move on.' and it sucks because there were a lot of great designs in iceborne. They just stuck with that caterpillar to butterfly transformation and wanted to make it incredibly different than xeno but I feel like it really didn't work like they wanted. If you told me what the similarities were between safi and xeno if I were a non-mh player then I would probably just say that they were big dragon things, and not that xeno was a younger version of safi. A lot of caterpillars still resemble their adult forms, it could have kept a lot of things while still showing that growth they wanted to portray. I don't think I can be upset because even though safi is basic its still cool looking, just wish they did it a little better. bring back that blue... bring back that glow... yeah it grew up but you barely get the theme of safi other than through those beams
of energy and it taking it in during the siege. #justiceforxeno ...
