Ok so a lot of things about “wolf fans” piss me off, as I feel the majority of them don’t like wolves as an animal, but rather only love them because of their popularity and “cool” factor.
I’ve spent 2 years researching wolves as a species,
And nothing about “wolf fans” pisses me off
More than the “Alpha beta omega” thing
Wolves have the dominant breeding pair, the others, and then the lowest.
This Alpha Beta thing is just fake ranks for roleplay, real wolves don’t have them
Just wanted to point that out

This is a rant about wolf ranks
A youtuber has nothing to do with it
this is a comment chain so I would like to interrupt it saying that none of this is really worth caring about.
I think wolves are really cool
But people shouldn’t be viewing them as just “cool”
People should be actually caring about them as an animal, getting to understand them more, and help their conservation
I once read from a national geographic thing that the ranks are real, but the wolves don't necessarily feel any type of way towards those with ranks
It's kinda like, "oh, you're leading the pack and keeping us safe? Cool."
At least from my understanding, but I agree nonetheless the ranks in rp aren't like the real ones at all :/
