People are Boycotting YouTube in a YT “black out” not touching it because they rolled out this AI that’s gonna look through your watch history and if it tinks your a child (and your not) you have to give your GOVERNMENT ID, or Credit card and dox yourself to prove your not and use the site normally

It’s happening slowly so you might be able to “fix” your watch history But I’ve heard of people who watch stock market stuff or political things still getting flagged as children (Not even mentioning the fact that theyre AI is supposed to take the age of the account into well account but accounts that are 18+ have been flagged as being children.) I don’t wanna doom and gloom because I believe that the policy can be walked back People just gotta shout louder and louder

If they don’t I know it’s gonna get hacked sooner or later and ALL that private info is gonna get leaked and people are SO gonna sue YouTube I’m just waiting to see if they’ll walk it back before then Also apparently they’ll hold onto your info for anywhere between 2weeks to 2 YEARS so yea if they don’t walk this back they’re gonna get sued sooner or later

More than just half I’ve seen non Americans also participate in this blackout Cause let’s be real they’ll start rolling it out in other countries eventually It’s not just gonna stop in the USA

Sadly I used it for background noise for art (I can’t focus without something on again I’m glad I have Hadestown’s soundtrack on CD and a CD player) I also have a huge backlog of books manga and comics I should really start reading so I have things to do besides doom scrolling
