He looked up at him.

Well that probably means extremely likely and that extremely likely means no he didn't stay-) He looks away and pulls his mask down over his face, a sign he wasn't in a good mood.

"I saw dad at school-.." He mutters, crossing his arms.

"No- He wasn't there for me." His heels dig into the ground, cracking the sidewalk a bit.

His body relaxed a tiny bit as he heels stop literally breaking the ground under them "I know.." He sighs.

"You think he'd actually answer or anything..?" He slowly lifts his mask, looking back at Jericho.

"I guess.." He shrugs.

It would ring a good few times before, surprisingly, Xavier answered "Hi Jer~ What cha callin' for?" his grin could be basically heard through the phone.

"Oh- Well I didn't think he'd wanna talk. Last time I check I thought you both hated my guts." Xavier took nothing seriously and his tone of voice showed that clearly "I was only there to see one of the teachers I didn't even realize he knew I was there-"

Toffee tensed, hesitantly taking the phone and pressing it to his ear "Uhm..Hi?" He was nervous but he tried his best to not let his voice show that. He sat quietly for a moment to listen to whatever Xavier was saying to him.

Toffee would occasionally speak back to him, shuffling back away slowly so Jericho didn't hear the full conversation, handing him the phone back when he hung up.

Toffee kicked his foot against the ground gently "Yeah-..But you aren't I can tell." He looks up at him "Do you really hate him..?"

Toffee frowned but nodded, he was a smart kid and quickly realized this reaction probably meant his answer would be yes. He avoided eye contact with Jericho now and turned on his heel, cracking the concrete in the process before beginning to walk towards the ice cream parlor without waiting for Jericho.

He kept walking, stopping by the shop and walking in without waiting once again.

He was already picking out and pointing out what he wanted, telling them what Jericho'd want too. He somehow had gotten his hands on Jericho's wallet, having a few dollars from it in his hand.

He payed for the ice cream and whatever Jericho normally got all by himself before walking to Jericho and handing him his whatever he got.

"Back in your pocket-" He grins softly, his grin being almost an exact replica of Xavier's.

He frowned, following him quickly "We going home now..?"

He walks beside him, moving to try and hold his hand.

"Not a lot..He said he was sorry for not saying hi, but he didn't mean it. He mentioned something about if I wanted he'd try to pick me up one day or some over so we can sit and hang out..I told him i'd think about it."

Toffee glanced away "Would you be mad at me if I wanted to see him..?"

"Yeah but-.." He sighed, not finishing the conversation and letting go of Jericho's hand as he walked ahead and straight into the house when they arrived home.

Toffee stayed inside for a while before going out and joining Jericho on the porch, just standing in front of him.

"Dad..We-..We need to talk." the porch would creak under his feet as they nervously dug into it.

He does as told and sits down though was still nervous as he sunk down in his chair "I wanna talk about dad-.."

"Well..We both know he's a pretty..pretty shitty person if i'm being honest. I know you hate talking about him, but I think it's unhealthy for me to just..keep in emotions and stuff that I really wanna ask about." He sounded so much more mature than his age and normal actions would imply. "So, The first thing I wanna ask..and I real;y doubt you know the answer but- why didn't he stay..?"

"I'm not stupid dad- I can handle adult conversations..I get what you're saying, He only wanted sex- and ditched so he could keep doing what he wanted when I came into the equation.." He fiddled with his sleeves staring at the ground.

"......Did you consider getting rid of me when he left..?"

Toffee teared up, sniffling.

Toffee hugged back, crying softly.

"You don't h-have to.." He smiled softly at the kiss.

"Why..?"

He just hugs him tighter as his tears comes to a slow stop.

He smiles softly.

He looks up at him.

"Sure-" He grins a bit.

"I know how to use a lighter i'm not dumb-" He lit it, literally the first thing he did was put the flame up against his palm.

"I'm fiiiiiiiine- look it's not even- OW!" He pulls the lighter away and closes his palm as if he burned himself.

He let Jericho have his hand but kept it closed and sniffled as if hurt before his pout turned to a little grin, giggling and opening his hand back up to reveal nothing had happened.

"I know." He snickers.

He smiles a bit.

He got up with him.

"I dunno..He didn't say a specific time or anything-" He sat by him.

"I..I guess..?" He swung his feet a bit.

Xavier picked up after about four rings "Two calls in the same day? What a shocker!"

"Oh- Already..? Alright- Good thing i'm already in the car." He giggles.

Toffee looked at him "Is-..Is he coming?"

He glances away nervously.

He stood up and grabbed his hand "Okay.."

He went with him, Xavier soon pulling up to the house getting out with the same grin as always "Hi Jerry~" he waved. The silhouette of a couple other people could be seen in the back seat. Toffee looked up at Jericho anxiously.

Toffee smiled softly "O-okay..love you, bye." He hugged him tightly before walking to Xavier with a small waved, being met with a hair ruffle as the two walked to the car and got in.

Toffee leaned against the window waving bye as they drove off.

Toffee was gone with Xavier a majority of the day before returning far after it had gotten dark out.

Toffee went to the front door turning the knob, Xavier drove off before he was even at the door.

Toffee opened the door standing in the door way for a moment before stepping inside and closing it, it was obvious he was extremely tired.

He shrugs , walking flopping belly down onto the couch.

He hugs back quietly with a soft yawn.

holy shit you're alive-) He shakes his head "I wanna lay out here with you-'

He laid by him quietly, being asleep almost the second his head touched the couch.

He slept a good while, waking up very early to get himself ready for school.

He got himself ready, getting a bath and picking out what outfit he wanted to wear changing into it before going back out and into the kitchen quietly to get breakfast.

He looked at him, currently waiting my the toaster for his poptarts to toast "But I wanted you to sleep longer-.." he jumped a bit when the toaster popped up.

He grabbed his pop tarts and walked to Jericho handing him one, though they were almost scolding hot "But you shouldn't have to- I can take care of myself..You should get to relax and not worry about me all the time.."

Toffee frowns at the idea of being anything like Xavier.

He hugged back, feeling better quickly.

"Can you drive..? Since you're already awake-"

He nods and picks his bag up from by the door "mhm!"

He went with him humming softly.
