Stumpypaw woke with a yawn, morning sunlight spilling into the apprentice den.

Curlypaw, stumpypaw's best friend was sprawled out on her back fast asleep. Stumpypaw shook her head at her and stretched her back. After that she padded quietly out the den into the dawn air.

Stumpypaw waved her tail at Birchstone for a " good morning " and walked to the prey pile picking through until she found a mouse for her mother.

Stumpypaw walked up to the nursery, a feeling of dread cave over her. She peaked her head inside to see another small ginger she-cat, her mother littlerain. Stumpypaw cleared her thoat.

Littlerain's head snapped up with a growl," Good morning, kit." She spat. Littlerain looked at the mouse and her face turned smug," Good, you remembered." Stumpypaw sighed at her mother and set the mouse in her nest running out of the den right away.

Stumpypaw took a deep breath and licked her chest fur, her heart rate calming down. She was happy that at least Littlerain was in a better mood today. She looked at her shoulder where a long scratch was and flinched.

Stumpypaw looked up at blossomfall," Yeah, i'm fine.." And looked away wrapping her tail around her.

Stumpypaw put a little more edge in her voice," I'm *fine* Blossomfall." More of the camp was starting to wake up now.

Stumpypaw wouldn't look her into the eyes," uh huh..." and walked back to her den her ears drooping.

Stumpypaw slumped into her nest, curlypaw stirred and blinked her eyes open," Good morning stumpypaw.." She said with a wide yawn.

Background: Littlerain hates stumpy bc she didn't want kids, and her father was the only one that loved her. He was killed by TC cats when he went over the border.

Stumpypaw gave curlypaw a smile and booped her on the nose with a paw," Wake up sleepy head!"

Stumpypaw poked curlypaw," Come on, lets go." The other apprentices were waking up, a golden tabby tom wasppaw. A brown tom with white underbelly, robinpaw. A grey/purple she-cat lily paw were all stirring at the sound of the leaders voice.

All the apprentices padded to the center of the camp. And at Falconstars words Curlypaw sprung wide awake with large brown eyes," Can you believe it?" She whispered to Stumpypaw. Stumpypaw smiled at her, knowing she was one of them.

Curlytail smiled from ear to ear, her curly tail swishing back and fourth," Yes!!" *her name is actually curlytail in my story! So this worked out! XD*

Stumpypaw smiled for curlypaw before padding over to Honeyflower her mentor.

Lilypaw joined in on her jerring," Im SO glad she didn't become a warrior! I mean she still acts like a kit!"

Lilypaw laughed," and look at those EARS!! Hah!!! She should have been named BATpaw for those things!" and she busted out laughing.
