Link'm just gonna sit here and incoherently ramble to be honest cause when my friends were celebrating and being all excited it just didn't sit right with me. i'm probably ranting to no one cause i don't think people read these and a lot of people on this website are in america either i don't think but not gonna stop me.
yesterday charlie kirk was shot in the neck and killed at utah valley university during i belieeeeeeve a debate event ? if not then it was just a speaking event where he was yappin' about his agenda or whatever either way he was essentially assassinated at a public event which i wanna mention his wife and kids were in attendance
and then people on the internet started cheering and celebrating. just let that sink in: this guy who did nothing but debate people on political views and honestly spew a load of godawful and incredibly harmful takes was assassinated for his political view.

Linknow i don't like charlie kirk i think he was a load of shit taken from a middle school bathroom and placed into the public eye for idiots to drool over but he was a person. he was a human being with a family and a life he lived that was unfortunately cut so short. his wife and very young kids watched him get shot in the neck and collapse, bleeding to death. how could you ever hear something like that and still be happy.
now some people have been saying "oh well he said gun deaths were necessary to uphold the 2nd amendment! he had it coming!" (the second amendment is the right to bear arms/guns)
nnooo ..? no he didn't ? at the end of the day the most harmful thing this guy has done was speak. maybe he turned people down the pipeline of far- right conservatism and those people on their own have probably spread harm and hurt people in the name of their political agenda but the main issue is he hasn't. charlie kirk has said some nasty stuff heck he was downright racist and i'm not trying to downplay that

if charlie kirk can get assassinated for speaking of his grifter political views then who's next? we are living in a world where people are now getting killed for saying what they believe and people are cheering and happy now cause it's a conservative but what happens when it's a liberal? what happens when the importance of the person is greater than just some podcast right-wing grifter that donald trump liked?
are we saying now that since he "had it coming" that other people have it coming too? why are we now onboard with gun violence i thought we were against that.
nobody should ever have to be shot and killed over their political views no matter what it is especially if all they did was talk about their views. this death only opens up the door to the discussion of how bad does someone have to be that we cheer and celebrate at their death and no longer view them as a person?

I agree. I don’t like him, never supported him. But all he does is talk about and debate topics. Sure his views are stupid, I don’t agree with them. But no one deserves to die over sharing their opinions. He’s still a person.
