LinkVex couldn’t believe it. How could this have happened? Her vision blurred as her mind struggled to separate the ringing from the sounds around her. Everything was muffled and distorted. So much so that, if only for a moment, she felt almost underwater. That is, if she were underwater in a pot someone was boiling.
She tried to organize her senses, starting with what she knew. What did she know?
Touch…Fire. Burning. Everything was hot. It was so hot it was cold. It was hard to decipher between the two. Too much. It was much too much to figure out where even.. it felt… everywhere.
Smell… again, fire. The scent of smoke was so thick it burned her nostrils and throat. Was she even still standing? She could hardly tell..
Taste… metal and ash. It wasn't a pleasant combo. In her deliriousness, all she could think of was instead of being the cook burning the food (as vex wasn't exactly skilled), instead, Vex was the food being burnt and cooked.

LinkHearing… ringing. The monotonous tone echoes louder and louder through her mind. She struggled to focus on anything else. There was a roar of something. It was the blazes.
Wait.
Why was everything on fire?
Why was she on the ground?
Strangely enough, her panic faltered. A moment of clarity flashed through her mind enough to get her bearings. It came in flashes, like a game with only a few frames a second.
First. All that surrounded her were flames and ruins. What seemed like a crashed pillar lie across her legs. Oh god her legs!
Second. The flames roared. A figure over her
A figure! Over her!
Third. It was dark, cold. There were flashing lights, street lamps. Heat came from in front of her but strangely enough she seemed to be moving back. The pressure at her arm told her she was being dragged. Little figures swam across the edges of her vision like they were circling for a kill. Who are you!

LinkFourth.
Fourth….
What was the fourth?
Vex realized the beasts seemed to be receding from her vision just enough to notice the white, still, and silent room. No,, the ringing was back too.
Wait..no that wasn’t right. This time it was in intervals… it was starting to beep faster. She glanced to it to see the strange monitor, a line…a heartbeat…her heartbeat!
Everything seemed to be spinning. She hardly felt conscious.
Was she conscious?
Where was she?
Her vision slipped away again. She watched it slowly blink beck into view.
This wasnt real..
A memory..?
She tried to focus on it..

Link“PUT YOUR HANDS UP! YOU’RE CAUGHT, ASSHOLE!” Vex shouted, holding the gun up, her shoulders bunched behind her head, tensed. Ready for recoil if she did have to pull the trigger. The man before her. The man standing in the vault with two duffels slung on each arm. He’d be why. Around him, laid the bodies of those who’d started the bust with him.
The man began to chuckle. It turned almost unhinged and laughed as he kicked a foot, swinging it, and his body woth it, almost drunkenly around to face her. His face was plastered with a toothy grin that was almost too wide. His eyes were widened, so wide you could see more white than his iris and pupils combined. “Ohh honey, Honey.. Lost the Money?~” He almost seems to sing the words as his head twitches side to side, his eyes boring right past the gun and into hers
“DROP THE BAGS!” She shouted, unwavering. She knew he was insane. This wasn't his first rodeo. Nor her own. She’d been tracking this man for a long while now.

Link“Ohoho!” he guffawed, leaning back as he rolled on his heels like the laugh was nearly powerful enough to knock him back, though he returned to stance, a hand moving up, tapping a finger to his chin. He looked strange lik this, with the duffles slung at his elbows like abnormally large purses. “Mmmm perhaps I will give the little lady one, hm?~” he grinned, shimmying his shoulders a little, his arms shifting with it as one of the duffle bags slid into his hand.
“Drop them all!” Vex sneered. Gods, she hoped the backup would come soon. Hell..maybe she shouldnt have run in before hand. At least she got the remaining bystanders out. Thats what really matters.
The mad man giggled as he dropped the bag, kicking it swifty forward. It slid to her feet almost perfect, though her eyes caught on to a flashing light. That’s not money. She quickly glanced to the back only to see a flickering contraption and a paper with a messily drawn grin on it. His signature!

LinkIn the next few seconds, everything blurred together. From the moment she registered the bomb, to the moment her reflexes convinced her body to begin to run, to the moment everything suddenly went bright with a sound so powerful she felt herself thrown back. Then, a blinding darkness and deafening silence.
