M- Do you know what they did to you? She asks this as she walks along the corridor. She has turned off her glow scales, since she has night vision. ??? clutches her neck, and Mariana senses he's terrified.

Mariana stops. M-- This might hurt, Okay? Don't be afraid.

She opens his mouth, and her needle-like claw grabs the white object in his throat. ??? coughs.

???wha-what is that? He seems to be shivering. Mariana places a gentle wing around his thin shoulders. M-- It seems to be a...

M- Oh! Im sorry! This thing was lodged in your throat.

Mariana glares at the white object. M-- Do you know what this is, kid? She glances at him.

Suddenly, a scientist, along with several guards, comes charging around the corner. The scientist points at them. S-- GET THEM!! Mariana gets in front of ???. She shoots a blast of fire at the guards, and they are engulfed in flame. They scream, writhing in agony, SHe puts ??? on her back and gharges down the corridor, yelling, "HOLD ON, KID!" as she speeds along.
