Yeah it’s good to shade with out black, because you can pick the color you are working on and just make in darker, and with black you can lose the original color

HEY!! this is the comment that you might be looking for it doesnt matter what you use in art, everyone has a different preference! It does look better with blending and using other things then black but please dont feel pressured to use a certain type of shading! Every art style and way of drawing is different! shading with black is only useful when ur doing a black and white drawing

syo, I have the og color (the base color) e.g., red. I get a darker red and shade with 0.01 opacity then after that, on the darker red areas, I use black to darken it up a bit more. then i mayyyyyyy just use something like light pink for the lighting, then use white over it.

unless you need that area to be very dark
