(i felt like writing again so this is sort of a lead up to the last post)

He sat, his hands clenched tightly around the amaretto bottle as he downed it. it felt like relief, a pause in the storm. he didnt even care if he had it earlier, "I still have self control" he told himself, quickly downing the rest of the bottle. he let out a weak chuckle, placing the bottle into bin, already flooding with all the past bottles over the week. he was slowly nodding off to sleep, dropping the pen as the paper work around his seemed to duplicate. it felt peaceful for once, then the ringing of the offices phone snapped the freedom away

He reluctantly got it, tripping over himself as he went to the phone, answering it. "Hey Charles, is this a bad time?" Pauls voice seemed to echo through his mind, bouncing around his mind along with his other thoughts. "No no- its.. its ok-" "Listen i need a favour. Alice should be leaving the schools drama club soon, and i cant pick her up. could please quickly get them? ill be in debt to you" he chuckled gently. "I- I don't know.. i don't think i can toda-" "Please, you know how scary it feels for me to make them walk home" "I.." he thought about mentioning what he just did, but couldn't bring himself to terrify him. "it was just a little drink.. I should be fine" he thought to himself. "Hello, are you there?" "Oh uh yes sorry-.. uh sure sure- i could do that" "Oh thank god, I cannot thank you enough. I promise ill make it up to you!"

They hanged up, letting out a long sigh, a slight hic erupting from his throat. "its only a 10 minute drive, plus i have to wait.. i should be fine" he lied to himself, wobbling over to his car and shabbily driving to the school. everything seemed so bright and hazy, he could barely make out the shapes of the cars, but never the less he pushed onward down the road. he eventually stopped by the school, pulling himself out the car and looking around the smudge that was the building. "Uncle Charles uncle Charles!" a small voice happily cried out as he felt his legs get grabbed on tightly, nearly fall over, but he knew who it was. he smiled and crouched down in front of Alice. "Heya Alice, I'm picking you up today. fathers busy right now, alright?" he could see the outline of her face smile, everything starting to get less fuzzy. he hicced again, taking Alice over to his small purple car as he sat down.

He let out a sigh, starting the car up and pushing down the road again. he could make out the road and cars a bit more, the lights looking like a smudge against a artists painting. he rubbed his eyes as he approached a red light, stopping. "Are you ok uncle?" Alice asked, puzzled. "Gh-? oh yeah.. I'm fine. im just- tired" he focused more on the road, starting the engine up as the red fuzz turned green. he sped through the road, just wanting to go home. he looked to his left, his pupils shrinking as he tried to step on the brakes, but it was too late. the bright, hazy light from the car pulling out got closer every millisecond. it made impact, the windows shattering around him as his car was slammed out of the way, the side completely smashed inwards. he let out a anguished scream, which was cut short as his head hit off the side of the car, blacking out instantly
