Linki (a mentally ill person who experiences suicidal thoughts and has for years, and also has tried to harm/kill myself in the past, and knows people who experience the same things and/or knew someone who killed themselves) am once again asking flipanim dot com to stop acting like suicide is a ****ing joke or a topic that you can just throw around or reference as if it's not something that kills hundreds of thousands of people each year

As someone who actually has tried to end themselves of serveral occasions not proud of it either I’m ngl I’ve made suicidal jokes. To cope but not make it the main punchline of the joke or using it in a story for plot convince some people actually use suicidde as plot convincing in stories not only that from the oc stories I’ve seen that don’t even check up on the character’s mental health after that.

As a person who has almost lost people to suicide, yet alone has tried to act on it, it can be rather triggering.
It's really just glorifying death? Someone who in a way, murdered themselves do to the pressure of mental illness?
I only find it understandable if the person saying it has actually dealt with it, and are using it as like,, coping.

I experience suicidal thoughts and tried to commit no longer alive on a couple occasions and seeing that stuff honestly just seeing or hearing that stuff makes me anxious and nervous. Just typing about it myself is making me nervous :/
I have joked about it but the only times when I kinda joke about I guess is just me trying to make not sound as serious as it really is to avoid the situation.
I agree. Isn’t to be used as a joke, never should, but I personally use mental illnesses in my characters a lot. (Not going through that myself) idk why but alot of my favorite characters I’ve made have some sort of mental illness, depression being the main one.
If i ever made\make anything like that, it's because i'm feeling that way myself.
Self-harm and suicide is not a ****ing joke and I've so many of people joking about it- what the ****- Harming yourself isn't something to joke about or fake (doing). It's real and so many people died by killing themself.

I have experienced attempted suicide and this pisses me tf off. Like gatcha and shit like that when they kill themselves and cut?! Thats bullshit. Its not ****ing funny to make it seem quirky or like it will make you special and get attention. If ANYBODY makes suicide/depression seem ok to fake, your on my shit list and being ignored forever. as a person who deals with suicidal thoughts every single day, who has attempted, I absolutely hate people who think sh and suicide are "quirky!11!!". people who romanticize mental illness, and depict it in harmful and potentially triggering ways, deserve nothing good in life. its all fine if it's vent art for you to cope, and you tw and mark it. but when you don't put that 5-10 second tw in front? when you're drawing it for clout? absolutely NOT FINE. you deserve to rot in whatever version of hell exists for you. suicide is no ****ing joke. the struggles millions of people face each day, the people who lost their battle, you're invalidating them by depicting sh/suicide as something quirky and fun. **** you.
personally, ive had my thoughts of suicide before, but not all the timw. seeing people use it as being quirky sickens me because they don’t know how it actually is. sometimes i just use the jokes as coping mechanisms but i just have a weird sense of humor tbh.
I lost my older brother to suicide a few years back. He was being bullied for being trans and stuff. I HATE when people romanticize suicide and self-harm. It's horrible and wrong and YA'LL NEED TO STOP DOING IT!!!

what people don't realise that it hurts to see something being downplayed as a 'funny joke' that is both harmful to the person going through it and the people around them.
people die to this every day, and you decided that it can be some funny joke or some romantic plot point.
if you want to actually display something like that in a story, then show it as it is. don't use it to be quirky, or funny, or cute, or cool.

I have almost lost someone to suicide. (Thank the gods I didn't lose them.) Whoever uses/used suicide as some "funny joke" or "quirky punchline" it isn't funny. People die every second, minute, year because of suicide and you're using it as a joke? Suicide isn't a joke like joking about it doesn't make you "cute" or "quirky." Just stop. Also, don't use murder, r@pe, or pedophilia as a joke either. These are serious problems and by joking around about them, it doesn't help. Educate yourself and don't use something because you think it's "cool" or "quirky". Thank you.
but yes kiddo i agree millions of ppl die from suicide every year and theres no reason it should be used as a joke i struggle with my suicidal thoughts its not something im proud of i struggle to keep the voice down in my head that pushes me to it and when that voice takes over im not the same ppl struggle with this and sometimes it ends with their life ending and i wish it could stop but sadly this is one that wont stop...i wrote my essay on suicide and my school heard my voice i had to not only put in facts but i had to give my connection with it so now my school has suicide things all over and ive seen many kids use the hotline numbers as joke but the thing is is my school payed extra money to have those numbers printed on our ID's and they have cards and flyers posted all over the school this is a big thing not just some joke, i dont normally speak up abt these things but i know many ppl who have died bc someone joked a lil too far abt it and when someone goes out from suicide with the word "joke" written
