LinkPrologue:
Blood, Sweat, and FIRE: Book One
Prologue: 500 years ago…
She ran with the key dangling from her jaws, leaves crunching under her claws, and vines whipping at her face as the dragon behind her pursued. Every time she tried to raise her wings and fly, they felt a searing pain, like her wings were on fire. She fell back down with a yelp, and the dragon caught up. All of a sudden she felt a sickly feeling, and she knew something was wrong. She tried to run but she felt a dizzying lurch and fell back down. All her limbs felt heavy, her mind was foggy, and she felt like she was shrinking. And she felt like that because… she was! Shrinking back to her normal size, she felt even worse; like the world was upside down and falling apart. The last thing she saw was a shadowy figure appearing in front of her, and her world went black.
