When your oc was warned about sirens populating the area you were in and to be wary of getting near their fights, they did not picture fish people falling out of the goddamned sky. However, whatever deity was out there, they had somehow managed to piss off, as that unlikely scenario is exactly what had happened.
Apparently, the sirens in these parts had :wings:. Meaning, aerial fights. And the loser of said fight had been unfortunate enough to fall out of the air, and ONTO your ship/boat’s deck. They had blacked out momentarily, giving your oc a rare up-close chance to see one up close without getting drowned. This one was male, with leathery, bat-like wings attached at the hips and a long, prehensile tail in a bright yellow color with purple stripes weaving through as a contrast. Linkfight- a few shallow claw marks here or there being about it, minus the probably bruised rib from the fall. Before your oc could figure out what to do- maybe throw him back into the water or something and assume he’d be fine, they didn’t really care- he woke up at their touch, scrambling back with a high-pitched shriek.
That is all, go crazy.
Blackburn got back away from it, he didn't want to scare it nore hurt it any further. He wasn't human so he thought maybe that would help in a way. "Hey-! Calm down would ya?! I'm trying to help you! " He said, getting up on his feet.
He froze, wings flared out to seem larger, claws unsheathed, clearly having been seconds away from trying to pounce at him or something, and staring up at him in a bewildered manner that supported that assumption.
“.. You are :not: a merchant.”
“I’m not trying to scare you,” He spat, the faintest hint of pain audible in his voice if you strained to listen. Despite his argument, he complied and dragged himself into a sitting position with a quiet curse, nearly smacking Blackburn with a fin. That bit was likely on purpose.
“It’s not bleeding, I don’t give a damn-“ He went to ‘rise ‘ ( considering he doesnt have legs ) and proceeded to shout whatever profanity came to mind first. He’s very honest. Mhm.

“.. Yeah, okay. I need your help.” He pointed to his side. No time for ego today.
He stayed still, muscles tensed. He didn’t fully trust the other not to kick him in the throat or something.
He inched slightly back, shaking his hair out of his eyes with a muffled noise to show he was listening.
He ever so slightly tilted his head to one side. “Where the hell would you get ice? It’s not winter.”

Koto took a few steps back ,shocked at the noise he had never heard before in his entire life. It took him a couple of seconds to form words, and he asked the creature "are you ok?"
The siren stared at him wide-eyed, before promptly replying without missing a beat, “Do I look like someone who has ever been okay?”
“I’m flattered.” He scoffed, voice soaked through with sarcasm, dragging himself into a sitting position without taking his eyes off of.. whoever he was near. “Pardon me for getting body slammed out of the air over a fish.”
"You don't need to worry about that, dear" he said, desperatly trying to get on the sirens good side "Do you want some food? I could get you a slice of bread if you would like."
His fins raised at the mention of food. “Please do.”

Koto quickly ran to a container near the dock and fished out a loaf of bread and a first aid kit. He then walked back and sat next to the siren, handing him a slice. He the asked "If you dont mind telling me, what's your name, mister?"
His eyes lit up and he quickly started eating it.
“I have lots of names.”
"Oh, that's Interseting,What name would you prefer me to call you by?" Koto asked politely, quietly opening the first aid kit
“Hmmh. I don’t care what you call me. Most people just call me Sparkles or something dumb.”
"Mmmh okay then."Koto chan whispered, stuggilng to find out what to addres the siren with. Even though he was still
scared of the creature, he tried his best to be polite.

"Do you need anything else?" He asked the siren

Koto did a quick skan to make sure everything was in the first aid kit, quickly closing it and handing it to the siren
"Take this in case you get into any other fights" he instructed
"A first aid kit!" Koto said, a bit cheerfully "It's filled with bandages and stuff so you can use in case you get hurt!"
"Its because you fell from the sky and I was really worried. Thought about calling someone for help but they would just have killed you. You also looked really hurt and I figured you needed that, right?."
"You can have the rest of the loaf" Koto said, putting the bread on his tail. He was silent for a few minutes until he asked "Why do the sirens fight so much anyways?"
“Food or territory. Mainly both here because there’s a ton of borders and areas with good fish.” He shrugged.
"Ah, that's intersting. So I guess it's every person for themselves with sirens, uh?"
"W h a t" Koto said confused. He really din't know anything about sirens
"Oh, so you like being alone, by yourself, with all your own thoughrs kept in secret like me?"
“Oh? No. I dont. The silence is agonizing and I hate it.” He grinned.
"You can stick around with me if you please!" The boy got up with a hop, and then turned back to look at the siren "you don't have too, it's your choice anyways"

ika would jolt backwards, stunned for a second before reaching for the closest thing i could find to defend himself - a stick. he would hold it like he was trying to warn a demon away with a cross, although it would probably not have the same affect as that.

He hissed, fins and wings flaring, the ends of his tail lashing like an animal. The stick is the opposite of reassuring. He seemed like a cat ready to pounce; based on the way he was positioned he likely was about to.

if sparkles was a human. and a siren landed on his ship, woke up, and screamed. he would scream back and knock it out with the nearest object out of pure panic.

“I WASN’T PLANNING TO UNTIL YOU BROUGHT IT UP.” He shouted loud enough that it made his voice sound hoarse, digging his nails deep into whatever surface was below him.

“I’m a siren, you DUMBASS. “ He threw a scale at him. “What the hell are YOU??”
