LinkThe one for the smart ppl apparently?*
Okay basically today in the morning it was just another normal day and I was walking to my home room but before I can go in the class my teacher pulls me apart and is like “ How are you? Blah blah blah blah okay but the reason I pulled you aside is because based on your test scores (we did a beginning of year I-ready diagnostic test thing) we’ve decided to move you to the honors class”
I was confused and then she was like “who’s home room are you in?”(Note shes literally my homeroom teacher which I thought was funny to include) then I told her and I asked her what class I was supposed to go to and it’s the history teachers classroom so I went from math homeroom to history homeroom
But no one alerted me or anyone else before hand? It was just a one day to the next thing so then I just went in the class real quick and pointed to the dude who simps for cap’n cuttlefish since he’s the only person I’d talk to and said “you. (Pointed at them) I’m moving classes. Bye!” And that was it I explained to them and other people it wasn’t my choice or anything though (didn’t want to make anybody think I left purposely though it doesn’t make much of a difference to me)
I hate “honors” like cool we may be a bit “more advanced” then other students but do we really need to know that?? Like I’m fine with students who do better in school being separated from those who misbehave and it makes sense having those of the smarter level together but it still doesn’t sit right with me
Man I’m so sorry about that. I understand they have higher expectations for honors but that’s way too high. I’m not saying somebody can’t do that but it’s still hard and overwhelming for an 8th grader I really don’t understand the need for doing that high?? Like maybe doing A SMALL bit of 9th grade teaching would be okay but seriously it should just be kept to 8th and slightly higher level 8th. I hope it gets better though! I’m glad honors isn’t too tough for ya.
I also feel kinda lost sometimes but that’s mainly because 7th grade was like a complete blur and 6th grade too so I lost some valuable teaching but as of now I’m doing fine surprisingly! Honestly I didn’t expect to be In honors at all but I think I do kinda need that push? I really don’t want it but I really gotta make up for 6th and 7th grade.
