the lady huffed, grabbing his wing, a tray next to her. she had glasses on. "you seem distant. feel free to let out any pent up anger. no one truly dies here."

she narrowed her eyes. "I'm gunna need you to open up your wing. the faster we get that fixed the better off you'll be." she didn't seem like the type to have sympathy, even if she did. it had disappeared a long time ago.

she huffed. feeling for the fracture, before grabbing it tightly. "a moment." that's when she grabs one the knife.

she looked at him, or.. was it a glare. no one can really tell, before she sighed. looking over at the door. "fenrift!" that's when Fenrift was first seen, he still have his irises. but his whites turned gold. "you called, goddess?- ...oh hi Goldie locks." she huffed, rolling her eyes. "he's refusing treatment. hold him down."

Fenrift grabbed him, he had grown stronger sense they last seen him. after a bit of adjusting and tangling. he has gold face first into the pillow. "there ya go, goddess." the goddess sighed. mumbling something, before grabbing his wing again.

the goddess got to work, she put the fracture back into place, only using a small hole big enough for two fingers. there was a small, inaudible whisper, and she had melted a piece of metal into the bones to keep them in place. she sewed it up, before nodding to Fenrift. who got off golden.

Fenrift paused, before sighing, sitting him up. "listen, I can't disobey a goddess-" that's when the goddess slapped him, growling. "what did i do?!" he looked over at her. "ahem, you were supposed to make sure our visitors got here safely and made sure zephilis didn't escape!"

Fenrift laughed. "crazy right?" the goddess stood up, sighing. "flagger. tyler of the red abyss. nice to meet you."

Flagger laughed, she even had tears in her eyes, before going down to his eye level. "who said I was with them?"

flagger crossed her arms. "yes, a lot of mortals call me the two faced goddess, the...hearth goddess. the wrathful one." Fenrift sighed. "she burned entire villages to ground, even created the creature known as the vampire eel"

Fenrift laughed, sighing. "goddess, I believe you need to prepare for death and his wife." The lost souls were on edge at the sight of him. the dark, medieval castle, looked across the red sand. colossal skulls of creatures, unknown, scattered around. spearmint stayed close, looking at them all. on the castle, there was a colassal dragon, it stood out like a sore thumb, pure white scales, pink eyes, no wings, but instead, it had legs, the amount of them made it seem like it was a centipede.

the dragon noticed them, snarling and walking towards them, it was more curious and inquisitive. none the less, it blocked the way to the front entrance.

the dragon huffed, sniffing them before moving aside letting them in.

flagger was treating ivy, or at least try to. she was trying to give ivy a shot and ivy was not having it. flagger's hands were heating up by the minute and Fenrift was just outside the room, sweating bullets.

flagger looked over, sighing. "death, your hear to pick up your... kid and her boyfriend, yes?" Fenrift just stared back. usually he would quiver, but he's gotten so used to the death glares and the threatening it doesn't really affect him.

flagger huffed. "Fenrift! get her mate, would you?" Fenrift looked over, cold stare still on vivian. "yes, goddess." he walked off. spearmint was.. worried about Fenrift surprisingly. she pointed at him, looking at flagger. "is..he alright?" "affects of the abyss, soon he'll be like the others. so I would say what you need to say to him while you still can."

flagger stared out the window, for a moment, she seemed so.. sad, upset. but that quickly switched to the complete opposite. she looked over, sighing. "get what you need, and leave. death is not welcomed no longer than they need to be." Fenrift, by the Time he got to gold, he was already slowly turning into one of the lost souls. "gold, you ready to go?.. if your asking, I won't be coming. tell azula I leave my bug collection and cherry to her." he gave him his best smile.

Fenrift paused, staring at him. before sighing. "death clearly doesn't want me in the palace, plus...which one is worse? the red abyss or praying to live another day?" spearmint looked at him, as if asking him of what happened to her to make her so cold.

Fenrift sighed, shrugging. "better than being constantly stared down. plus, what's the point? as soon as I return, I'll be overcome by the poison. now get up, tell silver I said hello." he laughed. Ivy was hiding behind her parents. "she tried to stab me with a syringe."

Fenrift looked down, sighing. "die with it, I guess." flagger motioned her head for him to over. he didn't want the wife or kid hearing what she was about to tell him.

Fenrift nodded, "if your ready to go." flagger sighed. "she needs this, remember how most of my subjects can..possess per say? that's what happened to her. you get her out of her without this, you might bite off more than you can chew."

flagger stared at him. "you know how hard it is to keep my other side at bay, death? i made this place because it was the only way to contain myself. this is not a false h3ll.. this is my grave. I want her out. but i can't due to her being possessed, it might not seem like it, but she is." she snarled. Fenrift smiled, helping him up. you could practically feel how much pain he was in just by thay forced smile. no one trusted him, not even life herself did. so why would he go back?

flagger growled. "trust me. it has never been my last mistake." Fenrift smiled, walking back over to the rest, bowing. "I've retrieved golden, as requested."

THERE was a small being right next to her soul, a passenger. a small lost soul attempting to escape through ivy. flagger tackled ivy to the ground, that way she couldn't run. ivy was freaking out like a bat out of hell. so was the little passenger. Fenrift just stared at what was happening on the floor.

spearmint looked away, flagger stabbed ivy with the needle injecting it. and that's when the small critters busted out, crawling into a crevice. "there. you all can leave." Fenrift backed away from vivian, bowing. "goodbye sir. it was nice getting to know you.'

ivy tried to reach out to Fenrift, who only smiled. flagger walked out, huffing. the dragon from before watching them from its place on the castle.

spearmint walked out and over to vivian, sighing. "what's wrong." she stared out intently to the scenery. how would azula treat the news? that they didn't grab fenrift when they went to go get ivy and golden?

cherry comforted azula the best she could. pointing back at the red abyss marking. thinking of the possibility of azula could go there. maybe it would make her feel better. spearmint sighed, smiling. "contemplating life?"

spearmint froze up completely, before chuckling. "your such a baby bird, would I go with you if i didn't love you? absolutely not, but, I'm sure the boys are fine...why do you ask?" cherry whined, staring at azula.

spearmint raised a brow. "honey you thought I grew up in the cuphead universe. and then i completely shut out the event thay caused the disappearance of my wings." cherry threw a book at azula, trying to get her attention. sure it was harsh, but cherry was deseperate.

spearmint paused, did she say something wrong? she sighed, nodding. going back inside. cherry held up a paper with the red abyss symbols.

it was a letter Fenrift had slipped into ivy's pocket. 'hey azula! I'm really sorry i couldn't come back. I thought it would be better off without me in the palace. I already caused a lot pain, I hope you take great care of my beetles and cherry! -fenrift' cherry sat down next to azula. berry was out gathering, arild being her angry self.

jerry's ears twitch, looking over. seeing vivian' s energy. "hello, mother." cherry stared at her, "abyss!" she squeaked. she nuzzled azula, trying to get the tears.

berry looked at arild, before sighing. "I'd say about... 100 years? us nix's live to 500, mother." he smiled at his long lifespan. cherry' s tail sagged, smiling. "symbols! represent abyss!"

berry smiled. "of course mother! you are my mother, after all.. is something troubling you?" he tilted his head. cherry looked over, chittering.

berry nodded, arild huffed. "can we go home yet? I'm bored!" cherry tilted her head, she didn't know Fenrift went there at his own free will.

berry chuckled. "yeah, sorry dad. arild is my helper to get around.. shes.. a little grumpy" arild stuck her tongue out.

arild was helping him get ingredients for a stew. she was indeed a little grumpy. cherry nodded, grabbing her beetle friend. they both looked at her beckoning.

cherry hopped around her, squealing. berry seemed to like the silence. arild just didn't like vivian.

berry chuckled a little. cherry screeched confidently, ready to go.

flagger was getting pi$$ed now. the dragon upon her castle screeched at the arrival of yet another portal. berry looked over, chuckling. "sorry, it's just funny to me that I'm your only kid." arild raised a brow.

the dragon screeched, snarled. crawling from the towers down onto the sand. the lost souls screeched and vacated the area, afraid of being eaten by what the dragon was called.. 'leviathan consumer.' berry smiled, moving the vegetables into the stew. looking in the direction of arild. "hey uh can you get the spices from the cabinet" arild nodded, floating over to the spice cabinet.

berry's ears twitched. looking over in the direction. "is something wrong?" it snarled, circling her now. as soon as it made a full circle it raised its head. staring at her with its black soulless eyes.

it huffed, lowering its head. looking over at the castle. that's we it burrowing into the ground. leaving only a hole. berry paused, staring at him. arild' s eyes narrowed.

(sorry about that, made myself lunch) berry nodded, looking over at arild. arild snarled, before turning into a pink soul and flies you of the room. flagger was screaming for some reason. Fenrift was trying to help her through her fit.

flagger seemed to be in alot of pain, to the point she accidentally punched Fenrift in the chest. causing him to double over. berry to the pot off the stove, walking over and sitting down.

Fenrift pushed himself off azula, or at least tried too. flagger had steam rising off her body, after a moment, the steamed stopped. groaning she got up, she had burns. "what are you here for now."

flagger grumbled, stumbling over and grabbing a liquid, a drink of sorts. she poured herself a glass and downed it one go. sighing she looked over. "I'm fine." Fenrift on the other hand was before determined to get out of azula's grip.

flagger coughed a little, sitting down. "I am dying. and I plan on taking this forsaken place with me." she laughed. "if I'm dead, I cannot be whole. but.. I guess i could help you.. what do you need exactly"

flagger nodded, chuckling. "he's got 37 hours before he's a lost soul.." she smiled, a smile? in a place like this?

flagger groaned. "you just have to get him out of her honestly. but due to his guilt. his soul will not leave." cherry sqwauked at the news. berry paused, before chuckling. "well that would explain a lot."

Fenrift sat down, curling into a ball. flagger stood up, walking over. "like i said, he can't leave, he won't. he didn't feel safe." berry snorted. "the times ya left me alone a little too long." he smiled, he always was so forgiving. it was always in his personality.

berry smiled, going over to the stove. " you act like I'm not used to change, father." he could see soul trails, or was it energy trails? Fenrift looked away, scared. "h-he.. I don't.." he was having trouble speaking.. first symptom.

berry laughed. "well, from the amount of energy flow, I'd say some sort of deity, might be wrong..." Fenrift looked up at her, raising a brow. "i.. have mother..? no.. no.." he growled.

Fenrift growled a little. "mother.. abandoned.. me.." he turned aggressive, before flagger gripped his shoulder. berry smiled, nodding. "I have practiced my seeing different energies and identifying. to bad I can't really.. read-" he snorted.

Fenrift snarled. "do not trick me! mother abandoned me for that rotten apple of a brother!" he growled, attempting to pull away. berry smiled, nodding. getting three bowls of soup ready.

Fenrift started to cry, flagger sighed, patting his back. "just let it out buddy..." berry looked over, sighing. "dad.. it's no big deal.." he smiled.

berry paused, looking over. "and.. why not?" he raised a brow. Fenrift hugged her back, crying. flagger sighed, huffing. "I'd suggest just carrying him out."

berry laughed a little. "father, I'm a nix. we are meant to handle different environments entirely." he smiled. cherry looked back at flagger, something seems off.

flagger seems to look sad for a moment, staring out the window. Fenrift continued to cry, sniffling. berry sighed. "I understand father." he smiled, sitting down, three bowls in hand.

berry paused, before sighing. "I um.. forgot to tell you. but uh.. my girlfriend is coming over." he smiled guiltily. flagger looked at it, this wouldn't fix her protect the fate. being split in half can only hold for so long. she'll dematerialize. but it would be a long time of pain before it finally happened.

berry chuckled. "sorry i didn't tell you sooner. she's really nice I promise! though a lot of people seemed scared of her.." he wondered, sense he never knew what she truly looked like. Fenrift had cried himself to sleep. cherry was licking the tears off his tears.

the mother was enjoying the peace, not having to work, she working on knitting Fenrift a scarf. berry smiled, arild screamed from the other room. "can i come back now?!" berry paused, chuckling.

Elizabeth looked over, smiling. "come in!" her cheery attitude was a mask to hide the pain of the news she was given. berry smiled, "arild you can come in!-" the door knocked, arild stomped in, climbing into her high chair. crossing her arms.

berry got up to open the door, letting isabella in. she was in a turtle neck and jeans. she was missing a arm, but none the less she smiled. Elizabeth smiled, nearly crying. "t-thank you for the news."

berry smiled as she petted his head. isabella looked over, smiling. before bowing politely. "are you his mother I presume? sorry if you were suspecting someone. little smaller.." she seemed a little self conscious about her size. Fenrift was lashing out, he was having a nightmare. cherry came over to azula screeching. no one can go to the crimson valleys and come back unscathed.

Fenrift scratched at the bed, crying. his heart rate was rising by the minute. cherry was squeaking. she sat down, smiling. berry got her a bowl, smiling. before sitting down. she chuckled a little. she was nice and a little shy.

Fenrift screeched as he woke up, before covering his mouth. when he realized he was back in the castle that death lived.. he hide under the blankets. she jumped slightly, stuttering a little. "I uh, 2 years ma'am." she smiled slightly.

she stared at her bowl of soup, this was getting awkward with the silence. and she was getting scared about berry' s parent not liking her. Fenrift slowly peaked his head out, looking around at the nurses.

berry smiled, looking over at his girlfriend. "did you get your prosthetic yet?" isabella paused, looking over. "they moved it to next week, berry." she smiled. Fenrift pinned his ears back, unsure whether to be grateful or angry. he was unsure why death didn't take him when he first arrived.

isabella looked up, smiling. "I uh, try to train in close combat and such. though without my prosthetic, I can't train cuz they think I'm incapable of doing so." she sighed. berry smiled, looking over. Fenrift sat up, shaking a little. "I am.. a little hungry.. m-mom usually makes me these delicious steamed buns." he smiled.
