I like to associate my demons with one of the seven deadly sins, like their are assigned to one, one that alludes to why they were demonized in the first place
Coal is a demon of wrath, that’s her sin, for the abuse and hatred she cast upon tommy in their past life together
Austin is actually a demon of envy, previously thought to be a demon of pride, but that’s been horribly disproven since we all know that’s an act
It’s not hard to see why he’s a demon of envy, I mean come on you know the guy, he’s a jealous ****er
I mean he did like try to kill tommy cause he was a big jealous boi, I love the idea that people become demons because of their own flaws and not just a being born in a pit of hell, it shows that demons are just flawed people that sinned horribly and are dealing with the consequences
I mean they aren’t bad people, just made bad decisions
And the reason I made Austin higher ranking
Well just my own idea but like
Wrath is just hatred or anger In general, not directed at anything, just hatred
That’s what coal was, she hated everything and so in turn made everyone’s life a living hell who was around her
But envy
That’s a deep, pointed anger at someone or something
Which in my opinion is a much more powerful form of hatred, because it’s an insecurity that in turn you manifest into an aimed fury at whatever it is that you don’t see in yourself
Exactly, it doesnt make someone a bad person but it does become a toxic form of sin, its nothing to look down on or hurt someone for, its like they let their rage turn them into their inner demons in an almost litteral sense

Its very odd, maybe it could be a comment towards the intense dedication and self destruction religion causes, since corey herself is an angel, but doesnt belive in any Catholic beliefs, maybe thats the very reason shes an angel, because she dosnt latch herself onto a strict guidline that some preist brought upon people, maybe, if there is a god, they dont want people to waste their lives in worship and dedication, maybe they want people to enjoy their time they have on the world he created
