Marfan is inherited, so luckily since my bloodline ends here, no more people will have to suffer under my watch. Hopefully. People with Marfan often cannot participate in many physical activities, and can be excused from physical classes such as a gym class. This is due to the weakness of the connective tissues, making many parts of the body more susceptible to tear permanently or break. Another factor is the more weak lungs and heart, which you obviously need to participate in physical activity. Marfan affects eyesight as well, and many people with it will be wearing glasses or contacts. (Like me!) While on the surface Marfan may not seem so serious or disabling, there are many different jobs that people with this disorder cannot work, as well as being limited to the hobbies that don't involve a large amount of physical work. It is also quite expensive with all the medical costs.
