...He sighed with relief as he neared his destination,the rocky road beginning to fade to grass.His paws touched the cool green grass.His run turned into a trot,his trot turning into a walk.He went right and came across a big willow tree.He eyed the tree cautiously.He edged nearer to the big willow.It's branches hanging low,a pink tinged color.He brushed through the branches,the fuzz brushing his fur,leaving it's soft pink residue on him.He went around the tree,another wolf curled up,resting it's head on their tail."Zuri"The grey wolf said. Zuri looked up fast,her eyes begging to calm as she saw who it was."Welcome back Ferran.." She shifted looking down at her tail,then looking back at Ferran. Ferran moved closer his eye's bright,all his worries lost.He laid beside Zuri and touched her nose before laying down beside her. Zuri moved her tail,revealing two small pups.Zuri looked down and smiled,"We missed you" Ferran rolled his eyes,"I was only gone for a bit.."...

...Zuri's expression saddened,"You never know if we will come back at time's like these.." Ferran looked at her,frowning,"I won't let them get us,I promise." Zuri looked back down at the pups,she felt sadness at the though of them going against Her and Ferran."You really promise?"She said,still looking at the pups.Ferran nodded,"I promise. Zuri put her head under Ferran's.Her eye's were cold,staring into the distance.Ferran curled his tail with her's,"I won't let them kill others..if it's the last thing I do.." Year's pass by and the two brother's were split apart.Zuri and Ferran wanted to make sure they were safe at all time's but couldn't keep track of them.They made a decision to keep one and give the other to trust worthy friends.The boy they kept grew to be strong,fast,and very stubborn.Zuri and Ferran knew it was heart breaking that he had to grow up alone,but it was for the best... The young wolf raced in the woods,the wind blowing at him.He knew he wasn't supposed to be here but why should he care?.

...The boy ran,his eyes bright and exited,they looked like two yellow suns like his mother.His fur,a nice grey color like his father.He felt free.Free from his father's claws,free from his mother's watchful eye's..free from life.He loved this feeling.He eventually slowed down when his little legs couldn't take the burn.He panted,taking soft shallow breaths.His tongue lolled.He looked around to see where he had ran to,disappointing to still see the darkness around him."Some day-" He began,"Some day I will leave this place.."He sat down,his ears flopping down with him."I'm bored now"He sighed."I can show you some fun kid"The boy whipped his head up,"Who's there!"he jumped up,"Show yourself!"He looked around nervous.A dark figure stepped out,"Why just little ol' me"The little wolf flattened his ears.This wolf was for sure,NOT little.It's black fur was sleek,their muscles rippling underneath.Claws long like thorns. Teeth stained red."Y-your not going to eat me,are you?..."

The wolf shook his head,"Listen here boy,I don't kill,not if I don't need to"He laughed darkly.The little wolf relaxed,but not too keen on the laugh."Silly child..You have lot's to learn.."The boy tilted his head,"Wha..What is that supposed to mean?" The black wolf shook his head,"To much to explain,such short time..Your father, Ferran right? he'll wonder where you are..Meet me here again tonight..if you are willing to have all the fun you want"His brown eyes glared at the boy.The little one looked up at the wolf,"How do you know..never mind..I.."The black wolf turned away from him,"Think about it..Slate..I will be here at dark"Slate's eyes lit up,question in his yellow eyes.He turned around,looking back one more time before he ran to the tree he called home...

Slate eventually reached the tree,he looked around,no sign of his father.He tried to sneak in.He let out a sigh,thinking he was clear of punishment.He walked closer and closer to his side of the tree,but froze as he saw his father and mother sitting side by side."Where the hell have you been Slate?Sneaking off again!"Ferran growled with anger,Zuri shaking her head with disappointment."How many times do I have to remind you?You are not allowed to leave within 20 feet from this tree!" Slate looked down,"But-" Zuri cut him off,"Son I know it's hard for you because you want to venture around and see the world but..it's just a dangerous place."Slate looked at his mother.He knew she wanted to protect him but he couldn't take the limit of 20 feet.He felt caged."Yes mom I know.." Zuri nodded her head but Ferran still looked mad."You know what,I think me and Slate should take a walk.."He smiled at Zuri.She smiled,"I think that would be great."

Slate put on a fake smile and flicked his ears,down and up,"Hehe..yeah..I would love a walk with you dad" Ferran smiled at Zuri and she smiled back."Well, I leave you two alone then,have fun"She said happily.With one swish of her tail she turned and walked away to her resting spot.As soon as Ferran was assured that Zuri was away,he whiped around and looked at Slate,"Ok you little brat,let's go for a walk"Slate flattened his ear's,He always heated when the went for'walks'.Slate crouched down and put his tail between his legs.Ferran breezed past him,whacking him with his tail as he passed.Slate whimpered a bit and followed.Ferran looked back to make sure Slate was following,"Keep up and well make this simple."Ferran muttered a few more things but Slate didn't really catch them.He knew he was in trouble,but also knew there was nothing for him to do.As they went past the 20 feet limit,Ferran stopped,turning around,his eyes full of anger.Slate's fur spiked up,he knew what was going to happen next....

...Slate closed his eyes.Ferran growled at him,"If you run off like that again I swear on your mother I-"He paused shaking his head,"What am I going to do with you?"Slate knew what he was going to do,he always did when he said those words.Ferran looked up again,"Slate,Some times,I wish I kept the other.." Slate opened his eyes,The other?The other what?Ferran looked down at him,"Honestly,he probably would have been better.."Slate grew anxious,What was his father talking about?"W-who is the other?"Slate couldn't help but ask,the suspense was killing him.Ferran laughed,"Your other brother dumb-ass.We had two kids,but we split you apart.Cruel world,isn't it?"Slate's eyes widened,a brother?They hid this from me?He felt his insides turn.They made me grow alone for what,not having to watch another kid?Ferran laughed,"Now Slate..your lesson"Slate was to busy in though,unaware of the big paw that was flying at him.At the last second he looked up,only to look back down as the paw collided with his face...
