in his teen years, he was hunted and used as a pet to a hunter, then clipped his wings and muzzled him. this went on for years, until one day, a wolf hybrid was thrown in his cage, it was wounded badly. tanner decided to try and help the wolf, he flipped the wolf over, seeing its moth like wings and intennes(cough cough dusty) it took awhile but he managed bandage him up with old blanket pieces. he waited patiently until it woke up. the wolf started to gain consciousness, his eyes shot open, freaking out, his wings furrowed out, he soon tired himself out, tanner dropped off of the wooden post he was on, landing next to the wolf. a growl erupted from the exhausted wolf, determined to have some defense.

tanner soon reassured the wolf he wasnt going to hurt him. they introduced themselves to each other and talked about how they got here. the two became bonded over the years.. one day.. the house they were in caught fire, nearly burning to a crisp, the two took this chance to escape, dusty grabbed the bird creature and flew through a hole where the fire had already eaten away the house, landing in a near by forest.
