The Dream SMP isn't just content for us, with criticism towards audience retention and stuff like that. They're trying to act out a story that could happen in real life (well, some things aren't realistic but you know what I'm saying). If YOU were Ranboo, It'd feel right to you to constantly repeat yourself. You have bad memory, doubt yourself constantly, you need to repeat yourself maybe just to make sure you actually believe the words you're saying. I'm sure we all know Derivakat's songs so that one lyric "say it enough and you'll start believing" is especially true to Ranboo's character. Also, with the "put me in the prison, Sam" scene, again, if YOU were Ranboo, insistent to be locked up, insistent you had become the monster you feared (okay Ranboo NOW I see what you're doing with the little nightmares stuff thought you could hide huh), that scene, repetition and all, makes perfect sense. That's another thing I like about it. Because minecraft is a first person game, we as the viewers get to experience literally seeing from the characters eyes. And its even better that multiple people can stream at once, so we get to choose who's POV to be in. Just my thoughts, but if I watch from one person's POV, I'll often go back and rewatch the scene from the other person's POV as well. Its amazing how it's the exact same scene but so different depending on who you see it from. I also especially will go back to Ranboo's POV, since as someone mentioned above (this thread is such a mess), Ranboo completely nails the nonverbal acting. Being able to portray your thoughts, hint at a secret, and react to something without speaking at all, and in a block game is quite a feat.

So in conclusion, though Ranboo's constant repetition and seemingly excessive monologues with only one simple main point is most likely an acting flaw, it still makes sense to his character, because of his poor memory, self doubt, and the apparent realism of the two. t h e e n d
