And heads up don’t buy cultural or race specific items or clothes without knowing the meaning behind them btw, things like rugs or fabrics are fine from what I know as long as it’s done tastefully, I’m using Indian fabric and quilts because I like how pretty and beautiful they are and I’m using them for what there made for. South Asian and Middle Eastern decor and fashion is a personal fav of mine but I wouldn’t step into something I wouldn’t know nothing abt and I wouldn’t want to erase the original meaning of those things in the first place and shape it into something different. I definitely wouldn’t want to wear traditional Indian jewelry or head pieces because I just found them pretty for example, I wouldn’t wear a bindi because I found it pretty- because Indian jewelry, head pieces and bindi’s have purposes and meanings behind them that contradicts who you may be or what you believe.

Erasing or changing there original meanings is harmful, appreciation and appropriation are not the same thing, gotta mention that rq

Researching and learning culture and meanings isn’t even that hard anymore and it can be really fun, bare minimum just understand what your using
