Probably because they aren’t heavy. Sleep token (and ghost) are great introductions to rock and alternative music because they’re more on the pop side of music. I’d struggle to even call sleep token a metal band, they’re really just pop with metal influenced

Yeah idk what you’re talking about but I think the people who are like “This band is so gay! They only care about visuals, not sound!” or “Why is everything lore related! This sucks!” or “They act silly on stage I hate this!” just don’t get it. It’s cringe to be honest, like allow joy and happiness and whimsy in your life for once bro. Listening to metal music doesn’t make you some automatic badass who’s so nonchalant he can’t handle some frolicking and theatrics on stage. Get a grip, 4 white guys wearings masks ain’t gonna ruin metal 💔

And I hate how people are whining like sleep token are some new band who just dropped an album and got popular over night. Nah bro they’ve been doing this for years. I saw an interview where some guy said their old music used to be “heavier” and “almost deathcore” but now they’re pandering to more pop music. Brother where was the death? Where was the hardcore? Are we listening to the same EPs? Sundowning and This Place Will Become Your Tomb are probably the least heaviest albums of them all, don’t even try to act like they haven’t always been this way 😭🙏

Genuinely it’s so goofy like just tell me you only listen to music to be performative. Just tell me you want to look cool and different. I know because I was genuinely like this before I got into sleep token, they helped me see the light honestly. Just like whatever music you want and if people hate on you they’re losers with too much time on their hands fr 💔

Yeah… I mean I definitely have bands that I hate with a burning passion but none of them are ever because they’re mainstream or some bullshit reason. And it’s not like I’m going to hate on an actual person for liking them
