He has two like, stages, if that makes sense. Here, the spikes are kinda like his hair, but not really at the same time, think of it like iguana spike hair things. So if he were to cut them, it would probably be painful. And uh, when he's just human, his hair does grow out, so yes, he could cut it

Yus, he does, but it's more like, his lizard skin kinda peels off when he transitions between human and then human lizard hybrid. If he were to stay as the hybrid, then yes, the lizard parts would shed regularly
