Delilah woke up in her bed of pond reeds as the first rays of sun hit her face. She yawned, and stretched her legs, blinking sleepily. She rolled out of her bed and walked out of the cave, walking up to the shore of the pond. She watched as a few fish swam under the water.

(._.) Delilah lifted her left paw, she gracefully twisted it though the air, and the water started to bubble under her. One of the fish was caught in a now floating bubble of water, and using her right, clawed hand she reached in and grabbed it. She quickly ate it and licked her lips, but her stomach growled. She would need to go back into town again today, to restock her food.

Delilah could feel the tears beginning to pool up in her eyes as she grabbed her large black cloak. She HATED going into town, she always was harassed, and sometimes even attacked. The last time she had gone two young boys bit her tail,pulled her long spiked ears, and took her money. She whined when she saw how low on coins she was. But she started on the trail that took her into town anyways, pulling her hood over her face.

She saw the iron gate that led into town and wanted to burst into tears, but she swallowed back a sob and kept walking. 'Head down, don't speak to anyone,don't make eye contact-' she thought to herself but she suddenly ran into something. "o-oh!" She looked up to see a large grey cat, he seemed roughed up," I'm- i'm so sorry, p-please don't hurt m-m-me I didn't mean too.." he backed up, horrified that he was going to be angry.

(oops sorry-) "You're not, gonna, beat me up..?" She asked confused. She blinked a few times,'Is this guy new to town or something?' she thought.

Delilah had stars in her eyes. Who was this guy? He was amazing! "Thank you, that, means a lot. What's your name? I'm Delilah."

She quickly hurried though," Toony, I like that name." She smiled under her hood," Thank you for being so kind to me Mr.Toony, but I should be on my way." She bowed her head in respect, and hurried off to the store.

Delilah walked in slowly, she could feel the store clerks eyes on her," Aye." He called. She froze," y-yes?" "Didn't I tell you not to come around here anymore?" His voice was cold and sharp,"Y-yes sir but I need food..then i'll leave right away I promise." She kept her head down but she heard his footsteps as he walked closer," that isn't going to cut it." He whispered. She was kicked over by him, and she fell to the floor with a gasp. Her hood fell off of her face and she stared in horror as he held a knife above his head," NO PLEASE- DON'T!" She screamed," DIE DEMON." He brought down his knife, but Delilah was able to scramble out of the way in time. She opened the door and dove through, and into the street,rolling, rolling, as the clerk screamed after her.

"Mr.Toony!" She gasped," No-no really it's fine you don't need to help.." She got up to her feet and dusted herself off. The store clerk looked furious however," My life if 100 times more valuable then..THAT." He pointed a claw at Delilah and she flinched," that thing is a DEMON. I bet she drowns children for fun! End her!" He tried to lunge at her but looked at Toony and backed up," I have no idea why you're trying to protect her. She's worthless." He spat at Toony's feet.

The clerk smirked," You're nothing but another wolf. You're nothing special." He laughed in Toony's face. "Mr.Toony,it's okay, please let him go I don't want to cause anything.." She gripped his tail softly. Her eyes were filled with tears," I'm used to it,it's fine, really."

Blood spewed from the clerks mouth when he was punched, and he made an awful gaging noise that made Delilah burst into tears," Mr.Toony please! It's okay I didn't want anyone hurt..." she sobbed into her cloak. The clerk looked at Toony with large terrified eyes," Who in the hell are you?"

Delilah looked at Toony with her large pink eyes," I-I...uh.." but Toony was already walking to the store and she had no choice but to follow him. She bit her lip and didn't say a word.
