LinkHey, I don't know if you know what this is, but, fandom doesn't have anything to do with logic. I mean, an evil ball of ink, how is that possible? A furby that wants to kill everyone? (Understandable) And then, let's not forget how some fan girls of certain characters in games tend to make animations of them getting impregnated. Examples of this are, sans fan girls fantasize about being his girlfriend. Like, little girls, pregnant by a skeleton? I mean, not everything has to make sense. (Sorry, I just finished writing an essay for a school assignment. So, I am kind of stuck in this essay talk.) I just wasted your time.

LinkMcScuse me
It depends on the type of robot. A lot of media based on robots has the theme of "what if a robot had feelings". My Life as a Teenage Robot, for example, follows XJ9 as she explores the emotions and problems of the high-schooler experience.
Or a lot of Phillip K Dick's work (Which is amazing, by the way), some of whoich features robots finding out that they ARE robots, and the general idea of reality being our perception.
Also, the FNAF characters aren't really robots, they are endoskeletans (a subset of robotics) but the characters are the ghosts that are possessing them. Which is weirder for people to be attracted to, especially since they are child souls.
