You see, if one does not believe in anything then life does not have purpose. Some people gain purpose through believing in themselves, or religion. I gain purpose by believing in the future. During my middle school experience I was certainly quite depressed, isolated, and alone. I was an odd one out, awkward, strange, and distant. A distractible kid who was off in the distance in a society of those who thought about things close. Those around me would never give me consolation, only mockery, deceit, and betrayal. When I went home, I would cry in tears of pain and isolation, knowing that I was good for naught. But I gave myself purpose. I made myself believe that I would do something, and through that I attained purpose and direction. I crawled up from the hole my life had been. I moved to a different place for high school. Now I do genetics lab research for cancer, looking at the effects of different chemotheraputics to help those with cancer.

You can do this too. You must shake off the bonds of those around you, for they do not matter. You are your own.
