An example of a villain motivation is Cell from Dragon Ball Z, Cell's motivation was that he wanted to show his perfection to the entire universe, but Gohan killed him before he could. Or Frieza, who needs no introduction, who wanted to become immortal and rule the universe, but I doubt he'll actually gain his immortality any time soon.
