He's a libero, his position is made for short people. They're the backbone of the defence and very useful. The rest of his team is also very good and as one of their sayings. Yaku is a big part of this as he can only 'keep the blood flowing' that's referring to doing receives so the setter, Kenma, can do good tosses without wearing himself out too much. Then Kenma's tosses allow the rest of the team to score points so Yaku does a lot more than his height says.
