It’s extremely disrespectful to purposefully misgender a trans person just because you don’t like them. I don’t care what your opinion on me is, my name is Simon, I am a trans boy, and will be identified as such. Gender identity is not a privilege that you can just take away from someone for whatever reason. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Someone whose gender identity is different from their gender assigned at birth. For example, even though I was assigned female at birth, I consider myself to be a boy. It’s really more complicated that that, but I wanted this to be short and simple so you can understand.
