The background may look a mess, but it's just a sketch!
I took inspiration off of Super Mario Galaxy while creating the background because of it's magic like vibe! However, it's going to be daytime instead of night time though. Sadly I can't draw Mango's castle correctly, so I tried to show part of it...

If I was lazy, I would've used a cliche pattern background, but I wanted the drawing to be an anime scene so that's how I imagine it!
I mean I did draw epic backgrounds off of that Liz animation so...
YOu probably know all sorts of things about backgrounds? May I have some tips?
Uh, it heavily depends on the mood you want to create
Also if your setting is kind of given - like Maria and Louise may be in a Mario setting - then I would use Nintendo colors etc.
Which is rather colorful and bright, isn't it

Yep! So the mood of your backgrounds you make depend on the mood of your stories?
Hmm never been asked that by now, I'd say I do many things instinctively.. but yes, when I browse my stuff the all over mood of a piece always is supported by the background
Also, I do not really know what your vision is, but Mario World itself is not melancholic or depressing or something like that. It may be spooky tho (remembering Luigi's Mansion)
Cool! I don't really have a problem with color choices when it comes to backgrounds, it's sometimes the perspective and the placement of objects that throw me off. Not to mention on what backgrounds I should choose.
Yeah I know! I try to make the backgrounds very Mario like and vivid!

The background you have scribbled so far is already great!
I can't draw castles well, so I kinda hid part of it. (It's the pink on your right) I'm also planning on drawing a garden where the pink grass is at.
I'm mostly talking about backgrounds in general though. Thanks for the suggestions though!
