I need to understand some phrases so if anyone can help thank you First of all i do not understand the concept of being "the apple" of someones eye. Apples do not have anything to do with eyes. I understand it is a idiom but why? Shouldnt it make some sort of sense? Why would an apple be in someones eye because theyre similar to someone? Something like "theyre my mini me" makes much more sense . "It's raining cats and dogs" no it isnt its water. How does cats and dogs have anything to do with water and rain? Cats and dogs do not fall out of the sky and they are not particularly big creatures so you cant really say it as its raining heavily. "So cute i could just eat them up" ?!?!?!?!? This one scared me as a kid. Why. Why do tou want to eat someone because theyre cute? Do cute things taste good????????? Can anyone explain these
