Ashes has a tendency to secretly carry around birth control pills or take two each day. let me explain, AHEM!

She's been doing this since she was 13. She lived her whole life in an orphanage until the age 16. There was a man that owned the orphanage that struck fear through all of the kids and teens hearts. The man wasn't there often but when he was there all of the kids and teens made sure not to aggravate him. Ashes was was one of the kids who got on his bad side a lot do to her bad temper, instead of trying to get her help he would beat her. Most of the time they inform the children when he's checking on the orphanage before he comes. But one day Ashes didn't pay attention when the workers were telling them he would come over. on that very day she got into a fight. The man that owned the orphanage dragged her into her room came inside her room and locked the door behind him. He told her that appearently beating her wasn't working so they were going to try something "DIFFERENT" (ring a bell from another anim I did) And he had rapped her.The first time she didn't get pregnant so, he gave her pills and told her to-

take them everyday, she didn't know what tey were for but did what she was told. The sexual abuse went on for two more years and then this happened. She t into a another fight and was punished again only this time he forgot to take the pills that morning, which were birth control pills. A few weeks later she was told by one of the 17 year old's at the orphanage that they would take her to the docter since she was showing signs of being pregnant if she took a test and gave her a pregnancy test stick(?). Ashes still kind of being a naive 13 year old didn't know what pregnant meant and thought it was disease, the test ended up being positive and she thought she was gonna die, so she took up the offer of the 17 year old and went to the docter. The 17 year old told Ashes that they could get rid of the "disease" if she agreed to get an abortion. Which young Ashes also didn't know what that was and agreed. So Ashes had an Abortion at the age of 13 and they lied about her age to get the docters to do it. Ashes didn't figure that technically she had killed a baby until she was 15. She had vowed to never stop taking the birth control pills because the thought that happening again scares her.

getting rape is another reason why she is kind of wishy washy about love because she was basically told that pure lust was love.
