wavy,short, kinda like this oc's hair, and for the female hair tips, the hairstlye of the girl in your drawing titled "H i g h E n o u g h"
I like to erase parts of line art to define the thick or thinness of the hair,, shading with the darker color, never use black to shade.
As for lighting,, I draw a square and erase curves on the top and bottom,,
