Also it says branded because the species key is, arent born with the marks, they get the marks branded onto their wrists on their 1st birthday, then depending on which one they get, they are trained to be prepared for the role they are given the second they are given the marking(unless they are given breeder as a role, teen they have to wait until they are 11-) Royals have all of the roles merged together, have magic, can breed to make 1 or 2 new Royals every 20 years, are highly miltary trained so they can protect themselves and their people if there are no soldiers Mages/healers have magic and also the role of breeders to make more mages/healers Breeders are only to make children Soldiers/knights/guards are to protect the village/kingdom at all costs, no matter how dangerous, they can still be used for breeding, but only when there is to be needed another generation of soldiers

You are correct with your first guess ^^ they are a royal, but they hide the bottom half of their mark to make themself look like a soldier/night/guard but its kinda sus because it makes it look like the mark is too high up lol
