1. This is my natural expression. Despite how empathetic and nice I can be, I naturally have a very p**sed-off face. Even my friends admitted they were scared of me at first because I always looked like I hated everyone. However, these assumptions that people make about me are the reason I don't try to change my expression; my judgy and upset demeanor are like a natural human repellant that I can use to escape interactions I don't want to be in. 2. When I'm not glaring, I'm staring off into the void. I usually never focus on a specific object unless I'm working on something. I typically do this in social interactions (group projects, conversations, one-on-ones, etc.) to escape eye contact. Being talked to in a private conversation with an adult that I'm not extremely close to (like a parent) is the hardest type of verbal interaction for me, which I'll mention again later. 3. Chewing gums is something I do subconsciously. No, I don't mean chewing gum. I mean chewing the sides of my mouth. Usually this-

-is a harmless fidget, but sometimes I'll accidentally bite too much off and I'll bleed in small amounts. My mouth heals very quick, though, so it's usually not much of an issue. 4. Continuing from what I mentioned earlier, direct, private conversations with adults make me very upset. When a teacher is consoling me up close and trying to make eye contact with me, I'll start shaking, burning up, clenching my fists, and avoiding eye contact by looking down. Any time a teacher makes a point to me or compliments my abilities in one of these conversations, I'll typically not show any facial expressions but will instead vigorously nod my head. As for my "trying to smile" expression, this is usually when I ask a question or tell an adult something quickly, give them a brief, polite smile when they give their response, but continuously hold the smile when I didn't expect them to continue speaking. I can hold a normal smile and make eye contact in their general direction for only about 2-3 seconds before I start-

-becoming very uncomfortable and divert my eyes to a wall or an object around them. The more time that passes, the more sore my mouth will get and the more my facial muscles will begin to twitch. I will hold this smile no matter what until the interaction ends or until I can find a viable thing to react around me. This also can happen while talking to anyone who is showing interest in my talents or anyone who is being kind to me. The only exceptions are my (at least somewhat close) friends who I feel like will understand my reactions to them without going off of my face. (cont. in a bit-)

5. DESPITE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE THIS ISN'T AN EDGY "omG sO sAd ðŸ˜ĒðŸ˜Ē" EXPRESSION LMAO,, This is my smile when I have to take a family photo (or any photo, really) I can't force a smile for the life of me. When I do, the bottom of my mouth stretches up in a weird way, my cheeks get sore, and my eyes begin to water. I hate smiling for photos. āēĨUāēĨ 6. This is my smile I make at my friends when I come up behind them in the halls. Due to my big, beautiful teeth and aggressively large eyes, I look like Jerma when I make this expression. 7. This is the face I make when one of my ex friends makes a joke to me or my friends while we're in conversation. This is not as painful as my trying to smile expression, but it's awkward. 8. And lastly, my genuine smile. This is the face I make when I hear something genuinely funny or happy. I usually only exhale out of my nose when I find something humorous, so most of the time this expression is from giddiness. This is the best face. <3
