Before fighting Sans, Flowey talks to you. He tells you this isn't a good idea anymore ands when he see you disagrees he runs away in fear. Thus begins your fight. If you're lucky enough to beat Sans (not me ->- ) you continue into the throne room and there you encounter asgore. What's really weird is that Flowey warned him about you, and furthermore, he doesn't even recognize you as a human anymore. Flowey then backstabs asgore and steals your kill. He explains he did it beause he could truly be helpful to you, But it's too late. Having no other option, you destroy flowey, including the soul inside him and his determination, causing not able to reset back at his "save point".
