Crystal awoke in the night, she felt as if she needed to do something. She hated the way that Napoleon treated the dogs, they sometimes were afraid, but yet they still followed him like a.... dictator leader.
She seen Snowball sleep soundly, she had to do something, she carefully crawled out of the nest, not waking him.
Yet she wasn't successful. "Crystal?.... where are you going love?"he asked softly watching her. "I have to go back Snowball... I have to change those dog's hearts..." Snowball's eyes widened. "W-what!? love you can't go back there! those dogs are vicious!....Crystal...I love you, I don't want you hurt..."
Crystal nuzzled him. "I will be fine my love, these are Jessie's children, but they're mine too! they will listen I promise to be careful.... I raised those dogs....I love them, they put their trust in me..... Snowball... I am their mother..." Snowball lowered his head in saddness.
Crystal nuzzled him. He nuzzled back. "I-if you must go.... then I will come with you...."
Crystal looked into his eyes seeing nothing but anger, and sadness, but yet also love.
Crystal nodded, and made her way towards the bushes, they traveled through the minor blizzard, Crystal new her way, and so did Snowball.
They finally arrived at the farm, the animals were working harder, she noticed that some of the younger pigs weren't there... She was afraid.
But then growling could be heard. "well, well, well.... look who came back.... and Snowball, I thought you were dead."
Napoleon glared at the two, Snowball stood there angry as he glared at Napoleon. "Napoleon whatever happened to you?.... you were my friend.... why would you lie to me about Snowball? why would you teach the pups such cruelty!?" Crystal cried angrily, lashing her tail.
Napoleon growled and the dogs charged. But as Crystal showed love in her eyes, they skidded to a stop.
The dogs whimpered, seeing the soft blue-gray fur, her warm heart, her kindness....
They simply kept repeating "mother......" Napoleon growled. "KILL THEM!!"
Napoleon yelled, as he stomped a hoof upon the snowy ground angrily. "Come here dears..." Crystal softly said, purring softly. The dogs whimpered, they lowered their heads below her head, to show submission.
They army crawled to her and shivered as the snow touched their belly fur, they quietly whimpered "sorry mother..." over and over again. They spotted Snowball and very fell to their bellies, regretting everything.
Crystal licked them each on top of their heads as they comfortingly nuzzled into her chest fur, relishing the warmth. Napoleon growled, and Snowball growled at him.
Crystal new that two males of any species fought for mates and territory...and dominance.
"Napoleon!! I challenge you for your territory, your rank!....." Snowball looked lovingly at Crystal. "And Crystal."
