First of all, your style is very cute, but I can definitely see places where you can improve. Pose wise, your characters are stiff and you rely far too heavily on the mini-version of them when creating art. Try to start leaning away from that and begin practicing your poses, you don’t need expert knowledge on anatomy to do that. It could be something simple like them walking, or sitting, or on the phone. Just do small warm ups like that. Color wise, I love the direction you are leaning towards. I think you just need to play around with them more and try to use muddied colors similar to the base rather than just black. It might make it look a bit more like the styles you are going for, since they aren’t doing straight up black or are using filters to make it appear cleaner. Just get a bit more experimental, make your poses a little more alive, and use references frequently.
