Linkmy headcanon is that Cosmo isn't the cat, Cosmo is actually an eldritch god inhabiting the body of roadkill and is also quite possibly one of the strongest characters in the verse

Linkdue to not being from Nocturnia (the verses home planet) Cosmo can not speak Nocturnian (the global language spoken), so typically just stays silent, or when attempting to give their (its?) input on a situation they/it just says "Meow". They do NOT meow. They SAY Meow.

his og lore was he had a creator that made him and then since creator used radioactivity to turn him into a zombi creator died! then zombi just lives in an abandoned warehouse

apart of the headcanon is that after spending several years fighting along with the Cool Skwad and Gold they learn a few Nocturnian words, such as:
"Bad"
"Good"
"Hungry"
"Bathroom"
The Cool Skwad kind of need to feed him and take him to the bathroom manually, since his body is rotting and falling apart at the seams. He's kind of like a pet. A really really powerful pet that could make them all into a vegetative state of daydream nightmares if he so chose
