Honestly yes. Unless they’re interrupting a serious conversation, they’re giving me more comments, and I check to see if they’re advertising something cool that I want to be part of.
Okay, you're fine withads, but most people aren't.
I think the difference is that you're thinking of it as the person showing you something personally, while everyone who dislikes it sees it as someone using you and your followers to reach their ends.

I disagree. If they follow you, they saw your post. You don't need to post on their comment to let them know. You were using them for their followers to get the 500 likes you wanted.
Advertising in someone's comments is using the anim, and thus the person and their followers, in order to reach yourend.
again why are you ppl so cooped up at these comments some of these ppl don't even live in the same place you live so I really doubt anything here matters the point of this site is to have fun

She could have just done the thing, not made a post trying to get to a certain number of likes. She also didn’t need to post it everywhere and advertise it because she’s already popular and if she just cared about drawing her followers, she would have set the goal much lower or just done it outright.
I can see that her intentions may have been good, but the execution was....... uhhhhh........ at best
The reason the "I wasn't looking for attention" bit doesn't work is that she set the limit over twice as high as her follower count.
I agree, it’s not exactly morally wrong for her to have set a goal for the anim, but it was a really high amount. Something like 100-200 would have been better and wayyy less aggravating.
I don’t think linking it to friends is bad, but to strangers or acquaintances is not the best idea, especially if they don’t permit advertisements. Maybe she was just overhyped but like.... please think about possible consequences next time

i understand the point of this anim is a joke. people have been taking everything a bit too seriously. this is all just in good fun y'all! im somewhat tired of all of this drama so i made this anim. no im not asking for 500 likes. im just asking to at least look at it.. spread love. not hate. <3
