I like how you do the scales on the nec, but i would recommend putting scales on the face and add depth to it Aswell, primarily darker scales around the eyes and under the chin and under the horns, also maybe exaggerate some of the features by adding a bigger nose spike or giving him an underbite. and if you want to make sure things look proportional, flip the image.

you have a very cute art style, I recommend using shapes to help guide you on making animals with longer or shorter muzzles and longer or shorter ears, etc. the piece you showed me is really cute and there isn't really much I would do to change it, but this is just general advice for you so it can help you to create more unique characters
