I was taking an are you emo test just for fun even though I knew the answer and even the test understood! Apparentally to most people 'emo' means a rebellious teenager that wears black and hurts themselves, but none of this makes them an artist or different. I mean, I agree with that last part, like just because you identify with emo doesn't mean you are immediatly an artist or even that important. However, the rest I hate. 'Emo' is short for emotional. Emos are people who feel emotion a lot stronger than other people do. Those emotions could be anything, I've met extremely happy people that are also emo, extremely angry people that don't mind listening to some My Chemical Romance every now and again, it could be anyone. They don't have to dress a certain way or do certain things either, such as wearing black or hurting themselves. I mean, people wear black and some people hurt themselves, but you get people like that in any culture or group. Emo is a culture, not a fashion statement.
and it's not right to think of the word 'emo' that way, like a group of bad people or just a way to dress and act. That would be like me saying "All goths wear dark makeup and look like demons". An overstatement, right? And completely not true, correct?

Emo people have a deeper understanding of life... I mean sometimes they can go to far and get super emotional and do stupid things (cutting or other self harming techniques). But other people can do that too. Anyways, emo people are pretty chill, they can get a little too emotional but what person can't... Most of them express hatred towards themselves and they have a good taste in music and a good sense
Also, by all technical means, pretty much everyone is "emo" because everyone will feel strong emotions, it's just that people who are labelled "emo" feel these emotions frequently enough that others notice, so you could, in fact, be labeling someone else "emo", while you are "emo" as well.
