Jared pestered his alien friend all the time not really caring if it was weird or mean at all and leaned on the locker next to them "heyyy nerd"
Xhno looked at him, their previous smile falling quickly.
"human." they closed their locker and walked away.
He just smirked and followed after them "what up with you today" he replied snarkly
they looked back at him, stopping.
"i don't find your jokes funny. keep annoying me."
He smirked again "Alright I'll keep annoying you" he started talking about stuff that had been going down in school random dramas and dumb stuff
they growled and kept walking, taking themself outside to study and trying to ignore him.
He just followed ignoring the whispers about him and alien boy he kept talking like he was trying to drown the whispers out so they couldn't hear it
"shut up! Jared! im very busy and your talking is distracting me! go bother someone else!"
the alien was in distress.
they were starting to cry out of frustration and just ran off, trying not to look like a baby in public.
He stopped everything he didn't mean to make them cry now he felt like shit he ran after him
they sat down behind the building, trying to calm themself and doing some work.
He came over a little while after and sat next to him the logjt was shining on his thick glasses so they couldn't see his eyes but he wasn't smiling he was silent for a little before "um I'm sorry for being a dick I didn't mean to make you cry.."
they gently hit him with their tail. "next time, shut up."
Xhno leaned over and rested their head on his shoulder.
"i forgive you."
He chuckled at the shut up part and he couldn't stop his face from turning red when they laid on his shoulder
they sighed and moved their head then stood. "class time."
they walked away, heading to their first class.
He got up and grabbed his bag and ran off to classes

After like a few minutes there was screaming from the other classroom which sounded like a fight
like a lot of other students, Xhno stood and went to check it out, they pushed through some students to get a better view.
Yeah uh it was Jared and another kid they were having a shouting match some desks were flipped over and Jared looked angry as hell like he hardly ever gets angry the boy just yelled at him calling him a freak while he told him to shut the fvck up and yeah
their antena fell.
"why are they fighting?" they asked another student.
The student whispered to them "we started talking about what our parents were and Eric said that Jared's parents were losers and didn't have jobs and jared got mad and so this happened" the two were still yelling at each other until Eric yelled over him "this is why you parents left you they didn't love you enough!" The room went silent jared slightly gasped before he stormed off shoving though everyone while the teacher scolded Eric
Xhno ran after Jared.
"Jared, what was that? why would he say that to you?"
they grabbed onto his sleeve in attempt to stop him from walking so they could talk.
He winced and jerked away but he did stop walking his arms were scratched up "because he's a dick!" He yelled he kept wiping his face eventually just taking off his glasses and showing that he was crying pretty damn badly
they stepped back when he yelled.
"that doesn't mean you have to yell at me. can we go somewhere and talk? maybe it will make you feel better."
He sniffed a little still crying and just nodded "just somewhere private don't Want anyone to see this" he gestured to himself
they nodded and gently grabbed his hand then took him to the library, no one was in there at this time so it was perfect.
"can you tell me how the fight started?"
"okay..he was in the wrong, but starting a fight doesn't make things better. hes just going to keep doing it because he got a reaction out of you."
He just laid his head down on the table grumbling and still crying "would have punch that stupid asshole in the face if people weren't watching"
they petted his head. "why didn't you? i mean yeah people but he kinda deserved it."
"Eric definitely deserves to get his teeth knocked in but that would just get me in more trouble with my foster parents"
