LinkI'm not saying all artists are depressed it's just that most artists deal with mental health issues and I think it has to do with the part of your brain that you use for creativity.I did some research about this myself since I like to learn new things and while doing research I found out that it does have to do with the fact that sometimes your brain uses creativity in the same place mental health issues occur such as bipolar disorder, depression, I think sometimes even insomnia.

LinkAs well as maybe sometimes artists get inspiration from past negative/positive experiences and feel the need to release their anger, sadness, happiness, and confusion in their art.My past experiences have been quite of the negative area which led me to want more happiness in my life(even as a kid, my childhood was quite negative) and so I began to draw little characters and as I grew older(as in now) I used what I could do with art and made it a way for me to vent my emotions which I hated bottling inside.

LinkThen again, I hate that motivation that I sometimes cannot find is always in my sadness.I hate that sometimes my sadness is my motivation which isn't a good way to think about your sadness. Anyways, I'm gonna cut this short because if I continue I may not ever stop.
