Mira-Jane: Why are you holding him down? *she looked down at William, she was nervous around officers but managed to keep her cool*

Mira-Jane: *she nodded, quickly looking away from him and turning to kai* what are you planning to do with him?

Mira-Jane: can I help him?

Mira-Jane: he looks kinda rouged up a-and I d-don’t wanna leave him this way-

Mira-Jane: thanks..

"I don't take to lightly to seeing a criminal I'm not affiliated with cuffing a cop." She took a few steps closer to him, her finger rubbing on the trigger loosely. Even though there weren't any bullets in the gun, it was always a good bluff to have around. She could never actually kill someone.

She nodded, watching him back off as she walked to William, still keeping her guard up. She crouched down next to him with a huff, getting out a small bobby pin from her pocket and picking at the lock on the cuffs.

She unlocked them and held out her hand to help him up, stuffing the cuffs in her pocket along with the bobby pin. "You alright, detective?"

She nodded and helped him up with a soft grunt before glaring at Kai. "Don't **** around with him ever again unless you want a bullet lodged in your chest."

She scoffed and walked off with him, putting the gun back in her purse, eyeing the visible bruises on him with somewhat concern.

"How'd you get wrapped up in that?" She made her way out of the alley, walking briskly down the street to a busted black car that was parked at the end of the sidewalk.

"Hm. I'm not too informed about this town since I just moved here because of work, but is he some sort of big criminal around here?"

"He cowers away from a gun that he doesn't even know is loaded yet he runs this town?" She raised an eyebrow as they neared the car.

She sighed as she unlocked the car. "Anyways, do you have any major wounds? Anything possibly fatal?" She opened the passenger's side for him before going to the driver's side and getting in.

"At least there aren't any bullet wounds. I wouldn't be able to do much about that." She started up the car and went down the road in the directions of her house.

"So tell me about yourself, detective. Let's start with your name, first off." She kept her eyes on the road, but glanced over at him every so often.

"Valerie Renor. Nice to formally meet you, William." She gave a very brief smile, turning a corner into a rundown neighborhood.

"No problem. Oh,, We're here." She pulled into her driveway, parking next to the pathway to the front door. She unbuckled her seatbelt and got out.

She walked to the front door and unlocked it, oepning it for him as she stepped in. "Welcome back, I guess." She smiled to herself, hanging up her purse.

She chuckled, closing the door behind him. "I'd hope so. I'll go get the first aid kit real quick. You can rest on the couch if you need." She gestured over to a living area with a large couch, a round coffee table and a marble fireplace. The top of the mantle was decorated with family pictures, memorabilia from when she worked as a cop and some orchid flowers.

She went upstairs into a side bathroom and got out a small, red first aid kit, checking to see that everything was in there.

There were many pictures of her, strangely enough, smiling with a little girl who looked like her sibling. Most to all of the pictures were of that girl. She trotted down the stairs with the first aid kit in hand, peaking in on him. "Find something interesting?"

Something in her stomach dropped, a slight frown on her face. "She /was/ my little sister, Camie. She was...She was a sweet girl.." She trailed off, spacing out for a second before placing the kit on the table with a thud. "Anyways, lets get your wounds patched up."

"Do you have any siblings, detecti- I mean- William?" She opened up the kit, getting out some bandages and disinfectant wipes.

"Ah. Alright...I guess the police force is kind of like family in a way." She shrugged, holding his arm loosely out to disinfect a few cuts and bruises.

"Oh yeah..For about 5 years I was a cop. Wasn't in this state, but it was sort of close. I quit the job, though." She sighed and got some bandages, placing a few on his wounds before going to his other arm.

She took in a deep breath, pausing. "It got too dangerous...It really just...It got too dangerous." Her eyes were slightly glossy despite her deadpanned expression not phasing.

"...I hope you're careful out there, detective. You have things to lose, so getting involved and trying to cuff the man that runs this city isn't very logical..." She huffed, a few stray tears falling on her face, a small quiver in her lip as she finished up cleaning his arm.

"...Hm?" She touched her face, feeling the tears and wiping them away with a sniffle. "Yeah...Yeah. I'll be fine...An-Anyways, your shirt...I kind of need you to take it off to get all the wounds cleaned.."

She blinked away a few more tears before throwing the disinfectant wipe on the ground and sitting next to him on the couch, her hands over her face as she cried. "****...I could've saved her, William..."

She leaned on him, letting out a shaky sigh. "It's been years, b-but uhm...Camie, my sister...She was murdered by a gang. They broke into my house and took her hostage then made me pay then they...they gave her back dead." She hugged onto her legs, her face flushed because of the crying.

"It's my ****ing fault she's dead now...I-I could've been more careful I could've put more locks on the door..." She leaned into him, rubbing her eyes roughly.

She looked up at him, her eyes still glossy from the tears. Her gaze was a lot softer than the last time she had him over. "Y-You don't know that. You weren't there."

She nodded off, hugging closer onto him and closing her eyes. "I need to take my mind off of this..." She mumbled.

"Well...What do you usually do to stray your mind from things?" She looked up at him, her tears finally drying.

She smiled slightly, ruffling his hair. "I don't know. That's why I asked you."

She was a bit taken aback by the action. She had no real experience dating people or being this close with someone who wasn't family. She didn't mind the weird fluttering in her chest when she was next to him, though. She felt safe. Valerie leaned her head on his shoulder, wrapping her arms loosely around his waist.

Her cheeks tinted blue, a small purring like noise coming from her throat. "This feels nice..."

She nodded, hugging onto him tighter. The purring was amplified when he started patting her head.

She nuzzled his shoulder, her body relaxing into his touch. Her legs uncurled and shifted a bit to a more comfortable position for her, straddling him so she could hug him closer.

She blinked before looking up at him. "Are your wounds alright...? I almost forgot about them, sorry."

"Mm. Good...Would you like to go somewhere more comfortable?"

"Bedroom...There's more..more space there." Her face flushed slightly, realizing how that could've been taken wrongly.

"Alright.." She reluctantly let go of him, shuffling off of him before getting up and holding out her hand for him to take, eager to get upstairs and experience the oddly happy butterfly feeling in her stomach.

She took him upstairs quickly, walking into her bedroom. There was a nicely sized queen bed in the center of the room, a nightstand that held an alarm clock and half empty water bottles next to it. She had a walk-in closet and two rooms that branched from this one. Valerie led him to the bed, pausing for a moment. "Do you want to get into something more comfortable? The material they make those uniforms out of aren't really ideal for relaxing, heh.."

She nodded, walking over to her closet and going in, closing the door behind her. She got dressed in only long shirt and panties. At least it was comfortable for her. She walked out of the closet, shutting the door before turning to him.

She walked over to him, sitting on the bed in front of him. "Should we...keep hugging now that we're both more comfortable?"
