LinkIs it valid that i hate my stepdad
Sure he gets me stuff sometimes but he treats me like im worth less than my step sister, punishes me more often while my step sister gets off the hook
He makes really weird jokes like joking about selfharm and saying oh do you cut the long way or the short way and he also makes gross jokes about me and my step sister like literally just yesterday in the ****ing er he has the nerve to be like "well youre not blood related so you could marry eachother" when i was joking with mt step sister saying she could adopt me when she turns 18
He does sexual things to my mom in front of me like slapping her ass and talking about what they wanna do in bed tonight
He doesnt say sorry for anything, the last time he said sorry to me was when he screamed at me and said he was going to hit me (my mom intervened)
He basically neglects our family, he is always on his computer whenever he gets home from work. It's like hes just another person in my house, he is certainly-

Link-nothing like a father figure to me. I wouldnt be surprised if my mom divorces him soon, even though they just got married last summer
My mom is constantly complaining to me about him, how he never remembers the things she likes, how he eats her food, how he spends more time on his computer than with her (which is true)
I dont think they truly love eachother anymore, which i dont really care about in all honesty, i just wish my step dad actually acted like a parent. Whenever i have a problem its "ask your mom" or "no" or "maybe". Not rlly wanting to start a new life with a whole new family for the 3rd time but if my mom was financially stable she would probably divorce him.

LinkAn update on my situation also:
If my mother gets into trouble with DCF it will probably be when my step sister returns home i would have to guess, which is in around 5-6 days. If she is found unfit to care for me i will be going back to my fathers house. I have no idea if this entire situation would result in my mother gettijg in serious legal trouble, since the medications were locked in a thick fabric safe bag (step sister used knife to cut it open) if anyone could help me understand if my mom could be in legal trouble for child endangerment please lmk. She has a lot of medications, and i mean a lot. She keeps the important ones (high dosages, not given out lightly, etc) in the safe (she needs to get a new one now), but there are still tons and tons of medications left out on the counter and in the cabinet and such. Can she be held liable for this?

LinkAlso id like to point out she would lose her job as a teacher and my step father would be unable to provide financial support to my mother, brother, and me with his one job, on top of his daughter and himself and the house and taxes.

LinkAny insight is greatly appreciated
OK, so im pretty sure dcf is mainly focused on child safety they wouldn't punish a parent unless there's serious neglect, and if your mom's medication, or whoever's it is, was locked up im pretty sure they would take that into account because it shows that your mom did make an effort to keep it secure, but if there's just medication left in places where children can get it, they'll view that as a safety concern i dont think They'd press charges over that; maybe they'll just tell your mom how to hide the medication somewhere more secure, but im pretty sure They’d require her to improve how medications are stored and might monitor things for a while. ;-;
