Well it'd be called stippling if the lines were a bit shorter and for the dark parts, you make the lines closer together.
This was a lazier doodle so I didn't detail it as I usually do, but I can visualize what you mean
I did try something similar for one of my anim imma find it
(Sorry about the typo the keyboard changed it for me, cocoa)
Instead of actual lines I was basically scribbling but I wanted a different effect then when I normally draw

I thought it wrote "weird shading techniques" and I was gonna say "heeeyyy, I also shade like data" but then I saw the real title, it's not weird at all!!! <3
