LinkI really do love the furry fandom and I am apart of it myself, the problem and confusion I have is when the characters have gone into heat: Ight heres the deal male animals can not go into heat but when the females do the males get that insinct that tells them "hey you need to breed!" depending on the species mostly land mamals will kill if it means that they get to breed I will give a few examples of this

LinkCats are the best example of this, every damn spring you hear cats fighting and hissing and the reason is cause in the spring female cats go into heat and you will see cats with a bunch of clips and cuts out of their ears from fights that is the main reason why male cats get like that but the females will also fight over stuff like that too

LinkIght I'm done ranting on this but yea I was wanting to make a wwyd around this and that's why I wanted to address this
Yeah, I only really understand male heat for ABO dynamics because only the omegas do that and it’s because they can get pregnant
But for other stuff I, a furry, don’t understand why people do male heat
Alpha beta omega dynamics.
It’s mainly used in fan fiction and is a wolf person kind of trope
The roles are like a second gender of sorts
Omegas can get pregnant (despite gender) and go into heat.
Alphas are known for dominance and can get omegas pregnant (despite gender)
And betas, well I don’t think they do either one
ah odd that beta's can't do anything cause they are second in charge
Yeah. I think their plus is that they are the only ones not subject to roleism? (Sexism but for this dynamic) cuz alphas are told they have to be dominate and omegas are told they have to be submissive (as well as other things that basically say that they are ‘only good for a good ****’) which a lot of fics are either about fighting against that oppression or smut
