LinkBut recently as in probably like a week ago or so we got a letter in the mail stating their is nothing the vet can do about our dogs condition he has both thyroid and heartworm and his back legs are giving out on him. And I haven't really been think that much about it but recently I've been thinking about it more and more and how likely it is that one day when I wake up that he'll just be gone

LinkOne positive thing is that my parents will allow me to go to a shelter and pick out another dog but I will be paying for it if I want to pick it out and take it with me once I move out

I'm sorry about your dog, it's sad to see that happen.
If you do endure getting a new dog, to help get rid of guilt for ""replacing"" them, try talking to your new dog about your old one, it helps tons :)

Aw, Littler! I am so sorry! I know what it feel like to loose a dog and I am really sorry for you! The best info I can give you us spend every moment your dog has left with it, weather that be playing with it or just sitting next to it. You can also take a picture of your dog for future times. I really am sorry though Littler and I wish you the best of luck
Oh nooo! Im so sorry about your dog :( I know how much it hurts to loose a dog…he was probably really special to you. I agree with the 2 comments above me- try spending every moment you get with your dog and make lots of memories. I hope that you are feeling better and that maybe you will find another dog soon. hey uh, 2 months later lol.
im sorry this is happening to you, and unfortunately i don't know what to tell you because i have never experienced losing a dog. there are way other people who can help you get through this (you probably already did but) im always an option where you can recieve help, even though it might not be the best

My dog is doing fine-ish I can definitely tell that his back legs are getting weaker and it takes him longer to stand up and find where his footing is.(the other day he stepped on my and his nail dug into my foot)
