Sandfish as their more commonly known, are a carnivorous species of land dwelling drakes with amphibious traits even if they are more closely related to reptilian. They have weak armor, but their stealth makes up for it. They have soft , but leathery skin. Like amphibians they absorb water through their skin, and don’t need to drink often. They stay dormant under the sand using the sensitive horns on their head to sense for prey that move above, as they only need to eat once or twice a week. When they aren’t under the sand they seek shade in the hot desserts , or they absorb rainfall through their skin. Sandfish can hold their breath for around 30-45 minutes , only needing to move their heads above the surface every once in a while. Differences between male and female sandfish are settle, the males having longer horns and spines and being a little smaller than their female counterparts. Colors are sediment based, they can be browns and pale yellows as they usually blend in with their surroundings.……………

Males have brighter coloration than females, with lighter coloration. Sandfish diet varies as they have multiple living locations, sub species included. They can live in sandy mesas or desserts, the most common of places being desserts.subspecies ex; A subspecies of sandfish live in areas with heavy snowfall as they have adapted to the cold by developing thicker fur. (Subspecies diet) They can take down elk sized prey, or if they thrive in a large enough group they can take down moose or even bear. Sandfish that live in desserts or sandy mesas will eat anything they come across in their areas, mainly being camels or addax that stray near them. Size is usually 8-10 feet as adults from head to tail. They stand at around 5 - 7 feet tall. Subspecies are quite smaller , they only grow around 5-8 feet long and stand 4-5 feet tall.
